Beschreibung
In a beautiful green surrounded spot we run our little but relaxed Hotel with enclosed restaurant. It is only 3 min. walk away from the town center of Thekkady/Kumily, which is located in the Western Ghats at a altitude of 900 m above sea level. That makes the climate very confident all year long.
As Thekkady is known for its sourrounding natural forest and Teaplantations there is a lot to do and to explore like tours in the Periyar Wildlife Sanctury, or trecks in the Plantations, great views from Hilltops and a lot of friendly people around. If you are into Yoga, we have a Yogaroom free as well for you to use.
Ourselfes we are a quite easy going couple, Adel from Egypt (the main guy) and Ulli from Germany, which are sure to become friends with everyone who come along to help. Of cause you can stay as long as you want for a good insight in our place and enjoy the whole location.

We wish for our volunteers to have a equal relationship with all people and staff around the hotel, because they will have food and work together. On the other side they will get a deep insight in the life and culture of the friendly people and be able to make good friendship with all of them.
Arbeit
All volunteers are welcome who, according to interests and aptitudes, like to put a hand in the Hotel, Pool area, garden and with our guests and being part of our Team for the time of stay. The help is normally not heavy and up to the ability of the volunteer.
We started an art project in our Hotel as we want our rooms and other walls in the hotel to be unique. So that we invite also people with painting and drawing skills to stay with us.
Our volunteers duty in the breakfast is only to entertain guest with a greeting or with a chat and not to physically work in preparing or serving food.
We find that as a great way to break culture barriers and to put a good atmosphere in the breakfast area.

We have a volunteer room with 2 beds and bathroom. Who likes to stay here should't mind to share this room with another one. Food from the kitchen is, of cause, for free, if you like you can cook on your own or join us cooking.

Apart from working you can treck around and enjoy the beautiful nature around us. There is the Periyar Tiger Reserve a 10 min. footwalk from the Hotel, Plantation and lots of hiking paths free to go. You can do day- or two day trips to Madurai, the tamil City with its impressive Temple, to Munnar another beautifull and famous hill station with even more tea plantation. Our nearest International Airport is in Kochi, 4 hours away which is another cultural highlight in Kerala.

We spend 2 weeks in early november in Ulli and Adel place, and it was very good. For us, it was at first high season with Diwali vacation and after that it was a break before the high occidental season.

I spent to weeks with Adel,Ulli and the team and it was nice. Adel and Ulli are super welcoming,friendly and easy going people.I felt really comfortable from the beginning.
