Beschreibung
This is a rescue and rehabilitation center for domestic and wild animals that are injured, abandoned, or orphaned. Our goal is to provide them with care, recovery, and a safe home.
We do not work with dogs and cats – our focus is on other animal species that often receive less attention.
Currently, around 150 animals live in our sanctuary, including horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, roe deer, emus, a wallaby kangaroo, many types of birds and poultry, rabbits, and abandoned exotic pets such as turtles, parrots, a ferret, degus, and chinchillas.
Besides animal care, this place also serves as an educational center open to visitors on weekends. People can meet the animals, feed them, ride horses, and learn how to treat animals and nature with kindness and respect.
Our mission
this place is a volunteer-based organization funded entirely by donations and visitor support.
Our mission is not only to help animals but also to teach people how to reconnect with nature and live in harmony with all living beings.

Volunteers can learn a lot about animals and animal care and conserving the nature. Also they can learn about Serbian culture, tradition, visit many historic sites, many of which are close to our shelter, enjoy the untouched nature of near by mountains on foot or on a horseback. They can also go sightseeing in city of Nis, try local food and experience night life in our city.

Who we are looking for
We are looking for reliable and responsible volunteers who have previous experience working with animals or on small farms.
You should be comfortable around animals, physically capable, and truly passionate about nature and animal care.
We appreciate people who enjoy teamwork but are also independent in their tasks.
Good communication skills, openness, and a willingness to learn are always a big plus!
Type of help
• feeding and watering various animals
• cleaning and maintaining animal enclosures, feeders, and waterers
• taking animals out to pasture
• preparing and checking food
• observing animal health
• helping with loading and unloading food
• maintaining the yard and visitor areas (sweeping, collecting leaves, removing waste)
• assisting with general house and space maintenance

Meals are provided together with the team (by arrangement).
Breakfast is provided and the rest of the meals you should provide for yourself. It's possible to buy food from the locals in our village, and there is also a small market in the village.
Our shelter is in he village of Kamenica, 7 km away from the centre of the city of Nis. There is a direct bus line that starts from the main bus station in Nis and arrives just 150 m from our shelter.

We are located in Kamenica village, about 8 km from the city of Niš (southern Serbia).
The area is surrounded by nature, vineyards, and forests — a perfect place for hiking, horseback riding, and relaxing in the countryside.
There is a regular bus line to Niš, and transport for volunteers is free.
Additional information
Minimum stay: 2 weeks

Basic English is required for communication with the team and visitors.
