Beschreibung
I'm a single and happy grand father (63 yo) living in a hamlet on the Pyrenean mountains, facing south and very sunny !
The place is a bit rustic, but this old stone house is just waiting to find its charm.
This small paradise is about 30 mins from the main city of the county, and less than an hour of a small ski domain.
The place is beautiful, very quiet, with lot of wild life around and far enough from the city. There's lots of nice walks to do in the area, and breathtaking views.
I propose hosting you (you will be fed, and housed on a dedicated bedroom) in exchange for a helping hand.
As I like to discuss various topics, we can exchange and improve our languages skills together.
Co-operation, exchange and procrastination are the keywords ;) -

The place I live is a beautiful one, in a natural park in Ariège. Lot of landscapes to see, lot of mountain walks to do, and lot of alternative people.
We can discuss to improve our language skills, play guitar or bass, visit beautiful places and go to small concerts of world music.
I can guide you through the beauty and strangeness of the Ariège and the people living alternatively here. Unfortunately, I have some pain on my feet (Morton neuroma), so I'll probably be unable to walk with you if you plan to hike on mountain.
If you've a driver license, I can lend you my car (but not my motorbike ;) !) if you need. And you probably will because of the detached situation of my house. -

Arbeit
There is a lot of work to do (gardening, wall cleaning, removing old wallpaper and old plasters, ...) and I've some ideas for interior and exterior design (Wooden veranda, small wooden shed, ...) but open to ideas.
I'm looking for resourceful and handy people to help me do some work in the house. No big work, but lot of little things.
Maybe you can prefer help me for preparing the meal, buying (with my money) food or cleaning the house while I do the work by myself.
I just need your assistance and your help, you will not be here to take the job of a professional tradesmen. I'll contact them if needed ;)
There's also a single mom (42 years old) with a 20-month-old baby who's often at my house. She lives in a house close to mine, and since I hosted her during her pregnancy and for over a year after the baby was born, we've stayed very close ;) ... She speaks Spanish and is learning French.
So get ready to join in some big little adventures with the baby too! :D
The non exhaustive list of task is:
- Elderly companionship, because I started to be old ;)
- Setup a small garden (~15m²)
- Cooking / run errands
- Remove old (but kitch) wallpaper in the house
- Remove roughcast
- Remove plaster hiding beams
- Coat and paint walls
- Remove walls (not all, just some internals)
- etc... -

Unterkunft
I can offer you a private bedroom, all other rooms are collective. The house have 3 bedrooms, a kitchen / dining room and a living room. Also a bathroom and 2 WC. No TV, but Internet.

In your time off (And my goal is that you will have maximum time off), you can benefit of the beautiful landscapes, walking on the mountain, do some sport activities like gliding, climbing, kayaking, skiing, etc...
You can meet lot of people doing music, art, drawings, etc. in the fabulous "Marché de Saint Girons" ;)
Or just read a book or watch a movie.
Twice a month, I'm a volunteer on a repair-café, helping people to fix objects, tools, toys, etc. You're welcome to help me to give a new life to this kind of objects.
*** More about me and my habits:
- I rarely wake-up before 8AM, and it takes about 1 hour for me to be operational ;) (Coffee, cigarette, coffee again, ...)
- I'm a bit lazy, or rather contemplative.
- I'm never hungry, but I'm greedy. And one meal a day, on the evening. But I can adapt easily, so don't forget to tell me when YOU are hungry. :D
- I often listen to music. You can share your music with me, except "classical" music :p -
