Hi! I am Lieke, I'm 26 years old, am from the Netherlands, and I would love to do a work away again!

I would love to spend some time in nature in a more remote area and do practical work with my hands. I am currently living in The Hague, working in an office job (so basically I want the opposite of my daily life ;) ). I did a few workaways earlier, and I've realized that those experience are much more memorable to me than a regular vacation.

I am passionate about many things, from playing beach volleyball and other games where I am very competitive (like Foosball or tabletennis, haha), but I am also passionate about things as protecting the nature, feminism, and protection of refugees. I try to live sustainably (I try to not take flights but only travel by train/bus for example). I like to do many things, from reading to hiking, beach volleyball, surfing, cooking, taking pictures with my analogue camera, and doing games. I enjoy being outside in the nature, whether it is in a forest, on a mountain, or on the beach.

In general, I am openminded, enthusiastic, easy going, social, hardworking, and I love getting to know new people, new cultures, and new places. I’m looking forward to volunteering, learning new skills, connecting with locals and anyone from other places and above all experience living in a different way, different location, etc.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I could help with a wide variety of things, as I am always enthousiastic about learning new things and I am a quick learner and hard worker.

I had different jobs: I worked as fruit picker, in a supermarket, in a warehouse, at the university, and I am currently working in a hostel. Until I started traveling I was also working as a volunteer at the Dutch Refugee Council where I guided and supported refugees who just settled in the Netherlands, by helping them navigate through Dutch institutions and helping them to integrate.

I can help with projects in/around the house, as I also always try to fix things myself, like painting the walls, floor laying, fixing my washing machine. I also love cooking and baking, and would love to learn new recipes or share my recipes. I don't have a garden (but I'd love one), but I have many indoor plants and I like taking care of them and letting them grow 🌱

I speak Dutch and English fluently, and I am learning French and Spanish.
