    ========
    ==============
    Rolando (my husband) and I left Paris in 2015 to settle here in this small village of about 70 inhabitants in Cotentin peninsula named Hiesville. We live in an old house/farm. Rolando is Spanish and I am French. We both speak English. We live just the two of us here, but Rolando has 3 grown up sons who come visit us once in a while and we have friends coming over sometimes.
    We used to run a little vegan restaurant in Carentan, but now I'm a full time yoga teacher and Rolando is doing various jobs, he will start working in February at a fabulous frien's place nearby : a wonderful coliving coworking place with workawayers coming to help and we've enjoyed wonderful times over there discussing with people from all around the world, comparing our cultures, our histories etc... This is how the idea to register as hosts on Workaway came to us.. We are both musicians : Rolando plays the drums and I play the harp and sing. We love vegan food, animals, nature, meeting people and sharing !

    We are right in the middle of the Parc Régional des Marais du Cotentin, a very authentic area. If you like nature, walking, biking, birdwatching, etc... this is the perfect place. The area is also very well known as one of the places where DDay started. Nextdoor village called Sainte-Marie du Mont was the first village liberated on June 6th 1944. Some archive pictures following June 6th involving civilians and soldiers were taken just in front of our house. Our house is located less than 10 km away from Utah Beach and it's museum. This area is also known as the place where the first vikings landed in Normandy in 10th century. You'll find lots of beautiful churches and chapels, as well as old farm manors since the area used to be very rich thanks to the quality of its soil and grass; it has always be a very good land to breed cows and horses and grow apple trees and wheat.
    All around the peninsula, you'll find beautiful beaches.
    There are a few surfing spots.
