Description
Hej, we are living here on the island of Als, south Danmark, in an old farmhouse from 1776 surrounded from a beautiful garden with old trees, a lot of flowers, a little vineyard, big meadows, fruit trees and berry bushes, a big organic vegetable garden and glasshouse with which we want to self-sufficient feed ourselves step by step. The vegetables and fruits we grow there are organic and for self consumption.
We who are living here, that means friends and family who stay here temporarily and me with my 5yo daughter.
We also have a big barn/shed with animals (chicken, sheep and goats) and different workshops. The plan is to set up a kind of holiday home and B&B rooms for people that were struggling in life due to illness or other huge impacts, not in a way of therapy but to offer a place where you take a deep breath and get based. But also tourists to gain a financial base. One of our fields can be used to camp where you can meet visitors from various countries and stories. You may use the campsite yourself, if you wish.
It's important to me that you are not feeling as a worker here. Instead you spend time with kind of friends who you want to support while helping on projects that catch your attention. It will be a pleasure to integrate you in our daily life of planning and fulfilling different tasks.Types of help and learning opportunities

We live on a beautiful island with a lot of nature. A trail around the island starts in front of our door. The sea which you can see from our garden is only 400m away via a lovely footpath. If the sea is to cold to swim we can light up the fire for a bath in the outdoor hot-tub.
You may love the quietness besides many nature sounds in the garden or the surrounding two big forests. The next bigger city is Sønderborg, about 15km away and can be reached by bus, bike or with the car.
We are enthusiastic sailors so maybe we can also go sailing together.
We speak English, German and some Danish, so we would also love to have support by learning the danish language.
We hope that we can inspire others with our way of life and get inspiration and new ideas on the other hand.Projects involving children

Help
If you stay with us, we would be thankful for your help as much as for your opinion and ideas.
In general it's upon you, in which way you want to support us: Either with gardening, farming, animals, construction work or daily routines like cooking and keeping the house tidy and clean. If you have special knowledge we would appreciate you teaching us and enrich our life.
Spring is the time where life comes back in the garden, then it's time for clearing fields, repairs, preparatios and finally seeding our plants. Sommer then is the period for keeping things going, meeting camper guests, harvesting, preserving food and enjoying the sun and the sea. In autumn our big event is making wine from our white and red berries. If they grew well, we can make a 100 Liters or more. Furthermore we seek for help at taking care for our daughter, cooking, baking bread, feeding animals and construction/carpenter works - like renovating a part of the house with as much ecological and sustainable materials as possible. That means clay, wood, hemp and others.
We love to share our growing knowledge with you or maybe benefit from yours.
If you like our ideas in general, lets chat and talk about recent projects that can suit your expectations and interest.Languages

We are happy and eager to help you at learning/improving German or English. If you are experienced in Danish, I would love to improve my beginner skills with your help.Accommodation
We provide two guestrooms with double/single bed including bed linen and towels. We like to take meals together, but you can also cook on your own if you wish to. Your are welcome to surprise us with your cooking, baking or patisserie talents. We focus on healthy and organic food and only eat very few meat, mainly which comes from our own animals.
We love to have a coffee break in the afternoon not only on weekends. So if you like to bake cakes or other sweets would be great ;-)What else ...
As Corona/Covid19 can be a risk to us, especially our young daughter, and other volunteers as well as guests at our farm, we require that you got vaccinated twice or at least tell us special reasons, why you couldn't.
