    Description

We live in the heart of the Saguenay Lac St-Jean forest, at the foot of the Monts-Valin National Park, 20 minutes away from Chicoutimi. We are hardened travelers, nature and people lovers and addicted to the outdoors. We bought the land of my grand-father in order to settle down and develop a possible life of self-sufficiency! It's on that land of 100 acres that we wanted to get back to the basics. Our project, our dream, is in full expansion since the last three years, small but filled with love with our animals, our garden and our greenhouse. The contribution (yours) of friends and travellers is part of the project since the beginning, this allows us to teach our knowledge and bond with people with the same profil as ours. We did learn most of what we know from travelling and working on other people's inspiring projects, in so many different countries and conditions! We are passionate who love to work, but also to make bondfires, do get-together and feast around good meals, talking about travelling stories!

For the next few months (2023-2024) our needs will be different since in November we are leaving for the outside of the country until April we would like to welcome a couple or a responsible person to guard the fort. Tasks will be kept to a minimum which means
mainly the rounds of the farm (1 hour maximum include cleaning per day) as well as the snow removal of rotating buildings (3 hours per week) for a total of 10 hours per week maximum. In exchange, we offer you the possibility of living in our chalet in the mountains in the heart of the snow-covered fir trees. We would like to offer a more ''stable'' experience by ideally welcoming travelers from November to April. What better way to experience the winter season in Quebec for real! Chalet in the woods, wood heating, rustic toilet, kitchen, cowboy shower... Of course, you have to like this kind of life... a little '' hermit '' ideal for recharging your batteries! Not so hermit if you have your license since the city is 20 minutes away as well as the national parks!!! ;) The advantage is to benefit from accommodation without too many hours of work in this exchange!!! Is this an interesting deal for you? Contact us!!

Obviously we will discuss all the details about expectations of eachothers before arrival.

We look forward to add your energy to ours!

    Stephanie et Jean-Philip

Bonjour!!
