Description
Esta escuela de permacultura solo recibe personas que hablen español en mayo. After that could receive every non-Spanish speaker.
This is a permaculture school with a focus on well-being open to all people who want to have an authentic experience of connection with peace and beauty with the amazonic nature, located in the highlands of Sauce, San Martin, with the view of the blue lagoon (laguna azul).
The main objective is to create a net of humans based on the principles of self-sustainability where anyone can live in a healthy way, learn to live sustainably, have fun, chill, heal naturally, view the birds and flowers, inspire to find their equilibrium in their lives and express their creativity.
Our project started on 10 October 2018 when Diego moved from Lima to the Amazon of Peru. Years after Silje also moved to the forest and they are together creating a place where people can live in coexistence with nature. Our place is a forest school where people come to learn, a place where we collectively create regenerative cultures and promote practivism. As a volunteer, you will live with the ecosystems of the Amazon and learn to preserve it through the permaculture principles.
We are going to open the vision of the district of Sauce to concepts of sustainability, like permaculture, bio-construction, collection and filtering of rainwater, solar energy, and nature medicine. Also, the use of a compost area and uses of used water to avoid any pollution.
2. Help
We offer two programs:
1. VOLUNTEER WITH EXPERIENCE
Do you know different areas:
• Agroforestry
• Hydrological systems (water systems, filters, collection methods)
• Organic vegetable gardens: from planting to cultivation, harvesting, composting and biofertilization
As a volunteer with experience, it's important that you can work independently. You will get a project and you are able to work on this alone. We don't ask you to be an expert, but you must have experience. Next to that, you will also be able to learn and deepen themes and areas that interest you, we will provide the necessary support and help, while together exploring how to tackle the task at hand.
2. PERMACULTURE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
This program is perfect for people who do not have specific experience in the aforementioned areas, but who are enthusiastic to learn, to contribute to the project, and to experience living immersed in the Amazon forest and with a community.
This is not a standard academic program: according to the area that needs work and that you decide to engage in, you will receive instructions and guidance to complete the tasks.
In addition to the practice, you will receive 15 INTRODUCTION TO PERMACULTURE CLASSES every day for three weeks, material to read, videos and postapprenticeship: online permaculture advising.
You will learn more about:
• Permaculture principles
• Community living
• Healthy cooking and the production of food
• Agroecology
• Hydrological design (water systems, methods of collection)
• Organic vegetable garden: pruning, sowing, cultivating and harvesting
• Gardening
• General maintenance
• Environmental Education
• Carpentry
• Natural building
• People care
3. Accommodation
We have a big outdoor common area with sofas, a hammock, and a big dining table where we have our community meals and games. In addition to a regenerative bookshelf with many books for a better future, and a variety of musical instruments.
We have two mud houses with tree beds each. On the roofs, there are solar panels for electricity to charge your electronic devices. We have mattresses and bed sheets and there is a locker/table for you to put your personal items in. The accommodation is shared.
4. Benefits
