Description
We live in Te Anau, right on the doorstep of Fiordland National Park.
We have 2 children Rita 9 and Austen 6, a dog and 3 chickens. We run a charter boat business in Dusky Sound and absolutely love the outdoors.
We try and grow as much produce as possible in our small garden using organic principles, and hunt for wild meat/fish as often as we can. We have had several volunteers come and stay with us over the years and love the cultural exchange and the opportunity to learn about other peoples culture and food. We can only host 1 person at a time.Types of help and learning opportunities
Gardening
DIY and building projects
Babysitting and creative play
Help around the house
General Maintenance
Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We are true blue kiwis and enjoy sharing history and knowledge about New Zealand. I am a passionate cook/chef so if you wish to learn about baking sourdough bread or making as much as possible from scratch I am very happy to share.

What else ...
Te Anau is a town on the South Island of New Zealand. It’s known as a gateway to Fiordland National Park and Milford Sound. The region is home to endangered, flightless takahē birds and abundant trout in Lake Te Anau. Te Anau Caves feature a limestone grotto of glowworms and an underground waterfall. To the southwest, the Kepler Track winds through beech forests, glacial valleys and mountains.

We could not recommend Nina more highly.
Andy stayed for approximately 3 weeks, he helped out in the garden, with the kids and on the farm with some projects. Andy was respectful, clean and tidy and best of all cooked delicious meals for the family.
From the start I was welcomed warmly and made to feel like one of the family. There was plenty of spare time to enjoy the surroundings, and the work was varied… read more
Max got on very well with our kids and was happy to step in and pick them up… read more

She took me in when I had nowhere to go and no idea what to do, after I got into an accident with my beloved van that had been my home on wheels until that point.
The fact that she responded to my last-minute request and was down to help out when she usually has… read more
