Description
Hi, I'm Hannah and live in rural north west France with my husband, Arthode (and Jasper the cat). We have a lovely old farmhouse and a great garden, surrounded by fields. The local area is very tranquil, with a lovely lake only 10 minutes drive from the house.

I am english and my husband is from Cameroon (but has lived in french for nearly 30 years). We have both lived in several countries and love connecting with people from other cultures. However, our DIY skills are limited (and self taught!) so we are more likely to be on the receiving end of any skill exchange!
Please note, we are only there about half the week as we have to work elsewhere, but we will provide food for you throughout. Jasper the cat does provide excellent company though (and has a automatic feeder so no animal care required)Help
As with all old rural properties there are always things to update and the garden to maintain. We can find activities for you based on your skills (or lack of!). Typical tasks would be garden maintenance / tidying / pruning, sanding / painting window frames, re-pointing and giving jasper (the cat) cuddles. We're also considering revamping an outhouse for bike store if you are more handy.

we are happy to help those wishing to improve their english (with me) or french (with my husband, though I also speak good french)Accommodation
We live in a 3 bed farmhouse, with a large kitchen / diner, large lounge and study. Please note that the house is heated by a wood burning stove connected to the radiators, plus another wood stove in the living room. This is proper country living and requires a bit of work to bring in the wood each day and set the stove (but we will show you how to do all of that), and you will be rewarded by sitting in front of a lovely fire each evening.
You will sleep in a comfortable double bedroom (with an electric blanket for when it's really cold) and there is a shared bathroom (with a shower), plus another toilet downstairs.
When we are here we are more than happy to cook for you. When we are not here we will keep the freezer and fridge stocked for you to make your own meals - you just need to let us know what you like to eat. What else ...
The house is at an end of a road with fields 360 degrees around it, making it very peaceful. It is located on the edge of a small village (1.3km to the village) where there is a boulangerie that does great bread (I recommend the nordic, which they only do at weekends) . It is a 10 minute drive to the nearest supermarket and train station. You will definitely need a car!!
This a great location if you want a peaceful, rural location, with lots of walks and nature. There are also some interesting villages and towns to visit (but note that not much goes on around here in the winter!) and a lovely lake with a restaurant next to it. I have two paddle boards to borrow if you are brave enough!A little more information
