I am Jackline, an ECD Education teacher and still pursuing the course during my part time in one of the colleges in Kenya. We are still young couples staying out side a small town called Oyugis in Homa-Bay county in Kenya.
Oyugis has a population of 52,433, the area do experience climate changes and due to crop failure and rapid climate changes farmers need to be trained in organic and bio char, irrigation at least to make use of the lake Victoria.
My husband and I are trying to train young farmers in our community to be self reliant in our food supply. We have also started a program with the community young farmers and we give starter kits (assorted seeds and drip line) to motivate them after the training.
There is a great need to train young farmers here and that is why we are calling upon volunteers who may be willing to come and volunteer with us over here.
We also call upon volunteers with the passion for children. We are looking forward to start an ECD school ( Center) with feeding program after my graduation to help the orphans and less privileged children who are not able to go to school due to lack of school fees so that they be able to learn and feed.
We also open the door for the willing / interested volunteers to come and work with us for the knowledge and skills transferred & grant writing for the project fundraising programs same as the one who are knowledgeable on website designing or can do connection for project to the talented global folks who can help in website designing ,and our accommodation will be highly welcome
Kindly if you are there and the Lord is leading you to Africa especially Kenya, Then kindly consider our us. We are very open for new thoughts and our doors are open for visitors.

Volunteers will share a house with us, he or she will have his or her private room fixed with a bed, net, light and a chair. We will share our food together and volunteers are highly welcomed to learn how to make our local dishes. Due to high economy in our country right now in terms of high prices of food stuffs, We are kindly requesting volunteers to contribute 5 Dollars towards food.
Volunteers will get an opportunity to visit tourist attraction sites like lake Victoria and have a ride on a boat. Volunteers will also be able to see wild animals at the game park.

In developing countries (Where most hosts are involved in charity work or community development) some of our hosts may ask for a small donation to help the host family or charity (often less then 5 dollars per day) Workaway will allow this listing when the donation goes directly to the family or charity and is just to cover the cost of the volunteers stay. (This will be clearly marked on the host listing).
We will strictly not allow listings posted by agents, “middle men” or projects who we feel are looking to profit from a volunteers stay.
