not only is Mac the most genuine, kindhearted person, he's only the best surfer I've ever met.
he takes us on unforgettable adventures, teaches us about the Hawaiian culture.
The work was very easy, it didn't even feel like work at all. We had the best time here on Kauai. Our travel Journey was beautiful and fun thanks to Mac.

If you get a chance to host Nadia, don't pass it up. She is a joy to be around, adventurous with a pleasant disposition, a deep conversationalist with both empathy and when appropriate sympathy.
It must be noted that she is by nature a fastidious housekeeper. Our house was never so clean and orderly as when Nadia was here.

Julianne was a very good workawayer for us. She is self motivated, and worked really well with the other workawayer who was here at the same time. Julianne was often quiet, yet also engaged in good conversation. If you have a chance to host Julianne, I suggest that you do so.

Celina was a great workawayer for us. She is remarkably cheerful in most situations, always with a big smile. I would describe her as self motivated, she contributed excellently. Celina rarely complained or asked for anything. She is sociable and got along well with the other workawayer who was here at the same time. If you have a chance to host

I was with Mac for 9 days and it was nice.
Mac is a 70 year old, surfer, bachelor who lives alone and try to move his life with as much aloha as possible.
He is very sociable and likes company to chat.
He doesn't like to give tasks, but always has something to do...
I tryed to clean his house in the morning from 8-11am and after that I used to

Mac was a very good guide tour! He took me to see some beautiful places and always teached me something about the hawaiian history/culture.
Thanks for the time Mac!Left by host for Workawayer (Helena)
If you get the chance to host Helena, don't hesitate. If it means something to you, both my cat and Grandchildren liked her. Helena was easy to get along with, quiet but a good conversationalist. She was self-motivated, and that works well for me because I rarely have any sort of task schedule. So many times, I was pleasantly surprised by a clean

Coach Mac provided an unforgettable experience. I would 110% recommend blessing his home on Kauai. He is sarcastic with very much dry humor. In my honest opinion makes him that much better. I learned to surf and fell in love with Kauai, and everything Mac had to offer.

I’ll start by saying that my needs were met in this experience: I had a roof over my head and food in my stomach. I stayed for five weeks in total.
As for an exchange, it was not- it was only good when other travelers were there. If he doesn’t like you, it becomes very clear very quickly. He did not like me.
I made sure to contribute to the
… read more household in hopes that this would change. I took care of the recycling, I worked on the compost, I cleaned up the garden breaking down the tree branches in the way of the laundry line, and I attempted to start a small plot of kale and butter lettuce (but the chickens ate away the seedlings that did sprout). In the house I swept regularly, I cleaned the bathroom, I cooked dinners which I always offered to him, and most nights I made sure the sink was cleared before going to bed. All around I made sure my end of this bargain was met.
In exchange, I consistently received silence or a sarcastic remark, a brush off when I asked if we could do any activities, and tense hesitancy when given any form of responsibility. By the end of my stay I felt incredibly uncomfortable being around the house and judged if I did anything on my own.
He will excuse much of this as his humor, but when it’s the only way you interact with someone it looses it’s humor and becomes malice.
One particular experience that stood out was when he took me and another garden girl to Wailua Falls. I went expecting to hike down to the waterfall. When we arrived to the parking lot I was asked if I could stay at the car so that the garden girl’s things didn’t get stolen. Essentially, I was in a car for an hour just to go hiking only to be left completely behind and on my own when we got there. What was particularly interesting was when other travelers arrived and he took them on the same exact hike but left no one behind to watch their valuable items, including a two thousand dollar camera.
I know his perspective of me is that I bummed around all day, however he made less than a minimal effort to engage with me in conversation or activities. I encourage you to reach out to me if you have any questions about my experience or hesitations to go.
(It is safe, you will have shelter and you will have food most of the time. I encourage you to only visit for a week at most and to either rent a car or figure out a way to explore the island without relying on him to help you.)You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
