Free accommodation is a part of the exchange. But given we need to continue to renovate the site, get gas for meals preparations, and other meals expenses, a daily contribution of $5 is requested of workways as hosting can be a bit costly as you would testify. And as we have noted from hosting for over 5 years. We do host multiple volunteers at once to ensure you can connect with other guests, and also be flexible in your help hours.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

You can spend you're weekends trekking the Rwenzori Mountains (highest in Uganda), swimming in the hotsprings, Game Driving in the Queen Elizabeth National Park to spot lions and other game, Boat cruising on Kazinga channel -a home to Crocodiles, hippos and plenty of fish while still spoting game like elephants, tracking Monkeys, Chimps and gorillas on top of visiting local markets and also attending local events.

The cheapest and commonest means of transport is the Motor Bike, which you can always use to get to town or visit a few places around town like the Market.

English is understood by most locals, and most children are slowly learning it at school. The commonly used local languages are Lukonzo, Luganda and Lutoro. We will teach you basics of these so you can say hello to locals in their language.

The rainy season runs from March - May and September - November, and the Dry season from December - February and June - August. Please do pack with that in mind.
