    Description

    Ciao!
    My name is Sally. I’m an Irish/English mum to a wonderful autistic son (Umberto), and we live together with our two friendly dogs in a beautiful 16th-century villa nestled in the countryside of northern Italy, not far from Lake Garda.

    Our home is full of character, peace, and history – the kind of place that has a calming effect on all who visit. We love welcoming open-minded, independent, and kind-hearted people who bring good energy and are happy to lend a hand.

    What We Need Help With:
    We’re currently looking for volunteers to assist with general maintenance around the property. Tasks may vary depending on your skills and the season but could include; light gardening and outdoor upkeep, organising and tidying up storage spaces and general maintenance, assistance with projects around the villa and/or any help with social media.

    About Our Home:
    Our villa is peaceful, with a warm and welcoming vibe. We don’t smoke, and we kindly ask that you don’t either while on the premises. We provide meals and enjoy sharing stories and good company – though there’s always plenty of quiet space if you prefer your own time.

    Location Perks:
    We’re in a rural yet well-connected area, with a bus stop just minutes away on the route to Verona.

    The nearest village, Rivoli Veronese, is a scenic 20-minute walk away. It’s famous for the 1797 Napoleonic battle, and now home to a small museum, ancient fort, charming cafés, restaurants, a pizzeria, grocer, bakery, pharmacy, post office, and ATM.

    If you have a driver’s license, you may be able to use the family car (manual) when available.

    Come experience life in a historic Italian home, enjoy the beauty of the Veneto countryside, and help us bring some love and care to this very special place.

    We look forward to hearing from you!

    During your stay, you’ll have the chance to immerse yourself in Italian culture especially when it comes to food. We’re always happy to share recipes and kitchen tips passed down through generations.

    We also want to help you make the most of your time in this beautiful and historic region. We’ll offer local recommendations and help with transport when possible, so you can enjoy the best of what northern Italy has to offer.

    We’re perfectly located just minutes from the A22 motorway, making it easy to reach many of northern Italy’s most iconic destinations:
    * Lake Garda – 9 km (12 min drive)
    * Lazise Castle – 14 km (15 min drive)
    * Verona – 30 km (30 min drive)
    * Venice – 147 km (1 hr 20 min drive)
    * The Dolomites – 174 km (approx. 2 hr drive)

    You’ll also have plenty of free time to explore Lake Garda — its beaches, charming villages, hidden beauty spots, and seasonal water sports — or simply enjoy a peaceful swim and soak up the sunshine.

    This is a wonderful opportunity to experience Italy like a local while contributing your energy to a unique and welcoming home.

    We’re looking for volunteers to help us keep our beautiful historic villa and its surrounding gardens clean, tidy, and well-maintained. I’ll be working alongside you and supporting where needed — you’ll never be asked to do anything I wouldn’t happily do myself.

    We use only natural, “old-fashioned” cleaning products that are gentle on the environment, so a shared respect for sustainability is appreciated.

    Tasks vary depending on the season and your skills, but may include:
    * Light gardening and outdoor upkeep
    * Organising and tidying storage spaces
    * General maintenance
    * Occasional help with social media content (if that’s your thing!)
    * Assistance with ongoing projects around the villa

    This is a relaxed and respectful environment, ideal for someone proactive, hands-on, and happy to lend their energy to an inspiring and peaceful place.
