Description
We are a family from the Netherlands and we moved to our finca in Spain in februari 2021. We are Ybo, Chantal and our children Sarah (2012), Senna (2013) and Jins (2017). We have a large property of 48.000 m2 meters in a beautiful valley in the mountains near Tàrbena. For our guests we have 2 wooden chalets. A bigger one for a whole family (up to 5 people) and a smaller one for a single person, couple or a family with a one child or one child and a baby. And since autumn 2024 we also have a couple of places for people coming with a camper or caravan. We made a shower and compost toilet for this and nice spots to park and stay. Close to the camping spots there are trees to climb in, swings, a huge trampoline, slackline, sandbox, little clubhouse for the kids and lots of space to play around. The nice thing about having also some places for campers/caravans is that we can host several families at the same time, which makes our place super nice for traveling families to connect, help each other and for the kids to play together.
Furthermore we have 1 dog, 3 guinea pigs, chickens, a horse and a2 cats.
For kids our place is paradise. So much space to explore, climb, build huts, bike, play with sand, swim, do games, etc. There are hardly any cars in the valley and our land is huge, so kids have a lot of freedom. For adults, we also think it is paradise. It is super quiet (expect for some screaming or laughing kids ;-)), beautiful nature, great trails to go hiking directly from our house, perfect area of cycling and rock climbing. And also just a wonderful place to relax in the sun near the pool.
Around our house is always work to do like mowing, pruning, painting, picking algarobas, olives in the seasons, maintenance jobs, construction work, etc.
We especially welcome families with children more or less around the ages of our kids to come, but don't hesitate to contact us if this is not the case. You are also very welcome without children or with younger or older kids.
Our house is situated 10 minutes by car from the village of Tàrbena and 45 minutes from the coast. Coming by car is a must, also for getting around, since there is no public transportation in the neighborhood.

It is great to experience life in the mountains on a finca with all our animals and happy family. We would love to share meals sometimes and exchange stories of our life here in Spain, the Netherlands and the Dominican Republic where we used to live.

Accommodation
You can stay in our wooden chalet with 2 bedrooms (sleeps 5), kitchen, bathroom, living area, a/c, heating and a great view! Normally for a couple or family, we agree that the total amount of hours to work is about 30 hours a week, which can be done by one or divided by both of the adults. We don't offer food, but you will have your own place with kitchen where you can cook.
In case you come alone, we can also agree that we do offer food and that you work 25 hours a week.
We don't smoke and ask you not to smoke inside (our house and also not in the chalet).
What else ...
Directly from our house there are great hiking trails, mountain biking trails and road cycling routes. The village Tàrbena is authentic and welcoming, has several bars and restaurants and a few playgrounds. A bit further away in Callosa (half an hour drive) you can find beautiful waterfalls and 15 minutes further around Benidorm there are several theme parks and many other amusement things. In Ondara (40 minutes drive) you can find a big shopping mall and 15 minutes further the nice sandy beaches of Denia. Altea, a nice village with beach is a 45 minutes drive.

The chalets we offer to our guests has a good wifi connection and you can sit outside to work with a view or inside in the kitchen or living room. The camping spots also have a wifi connection.
Space for parking camper vans
We have several nice places where somebody can stay with their campervan or motorhome. There is a little shower and toilet building, option to have electricity (limited because of living off grid, with only solar panels) and water.
Can possibly accept pets
Normally this is no problem, but it depends a bit on what animal. Cats or other small animals are fine. Dogs depend on what kind of dog. Our dog is old, but woud not like it if another dog is very dominant and our cats prefer dogs who are okay with cats.
