Greetings from Tibet! We are from Derge Ngamona, which is situated in the eastern part of Tibet, China. The altitude is about 3600m above the sea level. It’s one of the world’s few remaining primordial forests. The local weather is not very harsh as compared to the other regions in Tibet. Therefore, it’s relatively rich in plants and provides a varied source of food for the wild animals. It’s a home for first-grade state protected animals like white-lipped deer. We also have rare birds and animals like gazelle, Himalayan blue sheep, snow leopard, musk deer, pallas’s cat, lynx, golden eagle, bearded vulture, blood pheasant, and hill pigeon and many more. The area nurtures more than 10 first grade state protected animals and 35 second grade state protected animals. Because of the complete biological diversity, and the rich flora and fauna, my region is protected as a Nature Reserve by the state government. It is a beautiful place. We are nomads and have been practicing animal husbandry for centuries.
