    Description

Hi, I am Mette, I am 53 years old - I'd love to welcome you to Hanebjerggård which is a big little farm 10 km outside Vordingborg in the south of Sealand - Denmark.

I live here with 6 -sometimes 20- goats, around 25 - sometimes 100- rabbits and a handfull of chicken, 5 ducks, 3 cats and around 300000 bees :-)
And of course my 2 loving furry dogs Rosie and Maggie but they count as family. I also live with my fosterdaughter of 20 years fulltime, my fosterson parttime, and two other tenants (it is a large house)

I live surrounded by fields and with a view to the water, about two km to the nearest shop and busstop.
I am self-sufficient with milk, cheese, eggs, vegetable, fruits/berries and meat from the rabbits, chicken and goats.

If you are interested and you are curious to experience this lifestyle, maybe these questions will be of inspiration when you write about yourself. I have experienced that the more we share on beforehand, the better your stay will be for all of us.

Here you can learn a lot about self-sufficient life, cheesemaking, growing vegetables, keeping bees and harvesting honey and keeping animals for life-stock, knowing about the herbs. A lot of DIY as well.

Here the tasks are diverse due to the seasons. In the springtime there's a lot to do with preparing the land for the growing season, and of course taking care of a lot of cute baby-goats.
Later there is maintaining the buildings, the garden and simply keeing the farm up and running.
You don't have to have any particular skills, we will adjust the tasks to who you are and what you are feeling like to do. However I expect you to be exited to contribute, and to be responsible for your own self both doing your tasks and in your sparetime (as I am quite a busy woman myself, and you might spend some of your time doing the tasks on your own).

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You will be staying in a 2 room summercottage, close to the main house but with your own little patio. There is no running water, but you will have 24/7 acces to a toilet 50 meters away and acces to the shower. There is no wifi in the cottage, and poor telephone-service coverage, but acces to the internet in the common area.
There is a fridge for your snacks and beverages in the cottage, and I will provide you with 3 meals every day.
We will have at least one meal together a day, and we will talk about how we arrange the other meals.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

You can borrow bicycles and explore the nature and villages around here, and there is also some nice hiking routes around the area.
I often need private time, so after the tasks and until we begin the next morning (apart from dinner) you might be on your own.
Non-smokers are preferred, but if you have to smoke you can do it outside the common areas (and never indoor).
I also expect you to not have any alcohol-issues and drugs of any kind are not allowed at all.
