    Description

    Me:

Hi my name is Genevieve and I have owned this old gal of a home for 14 years now and she could do with some TLC.

I have my accommodation cancelled so have a rare opening for a single or couple to come and stay for a while and do some much needed handy person work and carpentry.

The cottage I'm offering as accommodation is also rental accomodation and it has WIFI and is self contained.

I bought my place in the country 14 years ago - it's a weatherboard divided into two separate living areas with separate kitchens etc.

At the moment the external building and inside rooms could do with some painting - it's been ten years since I had it painted - , replacement windows if possible and some gardening.

I have a Bbq and fire pit area and a couple of platforms looking over the beautiful Lerderderg River.

I have been sharing my property ever since I bought it, and if you think you are a match for what I'm looking for, let me know.

I'm a writer, a celebrant and I love travel, getting to know people and learning about other cultures.

Introduce yourself and lets get to know each other.

    My Place:

My home has a warm, rustic, clean, light open, eclectic feel.

The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, lounge with fireplace, bedroom with study nook, and bathroom with shower and toilet. There is a laundry area but no washing machine at the moment. I can help with some washing if needed plus there are machines down the road at the local caravan park.
My place is on the edge of theWombat State Forest in central Victoria, Australia. There is a river than runs past when it rains. Right now you can hear the flow of the river from the kitchen.

There is Starlink satellite WIFI and a chrome cast flat screen TV.

Heating and Cooling are available through a split system.

The bedroom has a queen size bed and bedding.

It is on the edge of the Forest so I can't control little critters finding their way inside like ants and bugs, But there are plenty of ways to control it.

The house is on the end of a no -through road, yet a 5 minute walk to the local pub and post office/coffee shop.

If you're lucky you'll see Kangaroos and Wombats and be laughed at by the Kookaburras (which happens every day to me!)

Currently I live above the carport in my own self contained area. It's not directly above you, but next door.

In front of the house, a walking track leads to Blackwood Mineral Springs, with water for you to taste from the earth. There are many different bush-walking trails, for you to explore.

Please note: no smoking inside and no pets.

It needs constant maintenance as it is wooden and also the garden/trees need pruning and weeding.

Blackwood is in the middle of nowhere but is the centre of everything:
(1 hour from Melbourne, 45 Mins from Ballarat, 1 hour to Bendigo, 1 hour to Geelong/Great Ocean Road)

Note the nearest train station is a 20 minute drive away so a car would be handy.

Note: I tried to upload photos if you're interested I can send you a link.

    Cheers!

Travellers can learn a lot about the Australian Bush, they will see kangaroos, wombats, native birds, Kookaburras. They will learn about the beauty of Victoria and can learn English. They will see life in a country town. They will also have access to the city of Melbourne which is an hour by train. A car is very much recommended. They can learn about indigenous plants, and nature.
I'm a qualified teacher and writer so can definitely help with learning English.
