Description
Two people or a couple that are reliable, strong, with some basic manual skill and knowledge around hand and gardening tools.
We need strong, capable, and enthusiastic volunteers who understands enough English to be able to follow instructions.
My husband Paul and I live on our beautiful 15 acre hobby farm, which has direct access to the beautiful Huon River.
We are working towards living a self sufficient life of growing our own vegetables and raising a few animals, along with renovating our large home.
We have two large veggie patches, a poly tunnel, a few chickens, 5 sheep, 3 steers along with our lovely dog ‘Janet’.
We’re both young at heart open minded and active retired 60+ yrs of age.
.
We’re live approx 15 min drive from the local township of Huonville.
We are in a rural and peaceful setting.
There are loads of different jobs that we need help with.
Paul and I are easy going and friendly.
Our lovely dog Janet is a sock and shoe thief 🤣
Provided is free accommodation, free internet, free Netflix, along with kitchen staples, our own hens eggs, milk , plus seasonal vegetables and fruit. Depending on how many hours worked per day we can either provide food for all your meals or just one meal per day.
We would love to get to know you and to have the occasional meal together 😃
In return we would like 3 -5 hours work (per day) x 5 days of the week.
There is a bus from Hobart to Huonville.
We are happy to pick you up and drop you off in Huonville or maybe even Hobart can be arranged:-)

We love to share the wonderful life we have in this beautiful part of the world and striving to live a full and happy self sufficient lifestyle. Paul is very handy and has a great workshop. He enjoys helping and mentoring anyone who is interested in learning how to use tools etc. when I have time I like to share my love of cooking, preserving, bread making and working in the garden.
Help
We would love a couple of strong and capable workers with some degree of manual skills to help with building, fencing, and using general hand tools.
*Unfortunately we only speak English, so we prefer Workaways to be able to comprehend and communicate enough English so you understand instructions of jobs to be completed. Your English doesn’t have to be perfect, just enough 😊
The above skills are preferred, but we also welcome those who show initiative, have a good work ethic, and a healthy CAN DO attitude.
There are many jobs that we need help with.
Fixing fences
Digging
Weeding
Watering vegetables
Planting
Harvesting
Brush cutting
Mowing
Help with building projects and the list goes on.Languages spoken

She was prepared to help with anything and has a wonderful down to earth attitude.
We had many laughs about mis pronunciation of French to Australian. Lise has a great sense of humour and hopefully learnt a few funny Aussie sayings:-)
