Description
Hello everyone, I’m Şafak!
I am both a traveler and a host. I am doing my master’s degree in Film Studies in Çanakkale. At the same time, I work in a bakery, which I find very enjoyable. In the summer, I do wedding photography and video shooting, and I also create video clips.
The last place I traveled to was Serbia, where I worked as a volunteer. Since I have multiple jobs, I cannot travel often. However, I have hosted many volunteers in my home. I have had the pleasure of welcoming kind guests from Germany, Sweden, Poland, Cuba, Spain, and Brazil. Now, they are all my friends.
I love trying dishes from different cultures, listening to music, and attending events. I believe these experiences help a person grow. Sometimes, funny memories are created during these moments. That’s why I also film vlogs for YouTube during my travels or with my guests—only if they are comfortable with it.
Additionally, I play the guitar and the saz. I do my best to embrace cultural exchange and enjoy life as a free-spirited person.
My project is very simple: you need to speak English with me. You can teach me useful phrases or give lessons on topics you find important.
I also live alone and do physically demanding work. So, I need help with house cleaning and cooking.
Looking forward to meeting you! 😊Types of help and learning opportunities

If my guests want to spend time at home with me, I am always happy to chat. I am knowledgeable about traditional dishes. Also, playing music from different cultures back-to-back is quite fun. If you enjoy watching movies, that would be great!
If you want to spend time outside and I am free, I can join you. However, if I have work, you will need to explore the city on your own.
This is a historic city, and the world-famous Ancient City of Troy is located here. Besides the time we spend at home, there are many cultural activities you can participate in.Help
Speak English with me. Teach me a few rules, idioms, phrases, or anything useful.
Let’s also tidy up the house a bit. No need for a deep clean—just the dishes and the floor. If the place doesn’t look messy, then it’s totally fine.
Alright, let’s sit down and have a beer. Don’t drink alcohol? Okay, hold on a second, I’ll prepare the coffees right away.Languages

I'm trying to learn English, and I can teach Turkish in return. I think my English level is between A2 and B1. If we are speaking face-to-face, please be patient with me. One day, a man turned his back and walked away. I was very sad. But I don’t really care that much. :DAccommodation
I will provide you with a private room. Additionally, I will give you a total of two keys—one for the room and one for the house. There is a closet inside that you can use. This room is suitable for a maximum of two people.
The living room and bathroom are shared spaces. You can use unlimited internet. In both summer and winter, the house generally doesn’t get too cold or too hot, making it a comfortable place to relax.
Food provided.What else ...
I do not set any working hours for this project. Since I am also a volunteer traveler, I understand you. The tasks I mentioned are quite simple—you can help keep the house organized, cook some meals for us, and teach me English. That’s all!
Let me tell you a bit about the location. We are 8 km away from the center of Çanakkale, and you can get there with a single bus ride. The city has a few shopping malls, nightclubs, bars along the coast, cafés, and various shops. It is a great place for a walk at sunset.
This city is built along the coast, so you can see the sea from almost everywhere, offering you stunning views. Also, the world-famous Ancient City of Troy is not far from my home—it's about 30 km away. You can reach it by bus as well.
Turkey has witnessed important historical battles, and if you are interested in Turkish history and culture, this city is perfect for you!A little more information
