Description
We, Birgit & Stefan (late sixties), are a young-at-heart German couple who have been living permanently in beautiful southern Piemonte (northern Italy) for almost 3 years, about 80 km from the Ligurian Mediterranean coast. We love the peace and quiet, the beautiful nature and the rolling hills and mountains. We practise yoga and meditation - an integral part of our daily routine. We are vegetarians, but have also enjoyed eating fish for a few years now. We value good, balanced and fresh food. We try to eat at fixed times so that we can plan the day better. As our old summer house was completely renovated and extended a good 3 years ago, there is still a lot of work that we could use help with. There is a lot of exterior work to be done this spring in particular. There are simply too many 'building sites' for us to manage in terms of time and, in some cases, manpower. Therefore we are looking forward to kind helping hands ...

We would be happy to talk about the cultures of Germany, Italy and possibly India.
I like cooking very much (Stefan) and my speciality is Indian cuisine, we can also talk a lot about gardening (cultivating, planting) and a lot about handicrafts. We also have a lot to share about yoga and meditation and hope to learn a lot about culture, food and other things from the world of the workawayer.Help
At the beginning of spring, we have a lot of small and a few larger jobs that we could really use help with.
We alway have a look out for the Workawayer that there is no dangerous work. The 'dangerous' part I do by my self.
- Splitting and stacking wood
- removing and splitting felled trees
- help with earthworks
- mowing tall grass and undergrowth
- creating a shelter for pellet pallets
- renewing stone steps, building small steps in the garden area
- small bricklaying jobs
- help with building a pizza oven
In the house:
- glazing wooden ceilings and doors
- cutting and fitting wooden strips to the windows
- small jobs requiring bricklaying skills
But there are always small jobs where help is welcome.Languages

We have been living in Italy for 2 1/2 years and are trying to learn more and more Italian. It's hard but the longer you live here, the better you understand the language and one day we'll be able to speak it well. Birgit already speaks it reasonably well (she had Latin at school) but it will take a while for me (Stefan) ...Accommodation
We have a large motorhome (4 years old). It has plenty of space, a kitchen, a toilet if necessary and a shower (otherwise in the house). It is a bit separate and very close to the house (30 metres). The motorhome has an awning and seating and a camping table. It's a quiet retreat to relax, and at mealtimes and depending on the occasion we sit at / in the house. We also love sitting around the campfire.
We have been vegetarians for a very long time and therefore pay attention to a good and balanced diet. We have also been eating eggs and fish for a few years now. But we don't eat meat, sausage etc. and don't want to have it prepared in the house or camper.
Of course, we are happy to receive help with the preparation. We can also share and exchange knowledge here. We are also happy to try out new (vegetarian) dishes. The meal should then take place together so that we can socialise. What else ...
The area is hilly and extensive. There are wooded areas, vineyards and hazelnut plantations all around. We live in a secluded location, almost at the end of a cul-de-sac. There is actually no traffic on the road. Our village is 1.5 km away. The next larger town is 5 km away. There is a bus, but this runs 4 times a day. There is also a bus station in a neighbouring village with buses to various towns. In the larger town there are good shopping facilities and also a nice market twice a week (fresh fruit/vegetables and clothing, shoes etc). In addition to the beautiful countryside and the older towns, there are several places of interest....
