    Description

I want to show my country to the people staying with me, offering everything from trekking, climbing, long walks, biking, and trips by car. During the daytime, I am quite occupied with remote work, but it is flexible to some extent.

I also maintain my family's houses and sometimes need help in my apartment in the city center of Stockholm. One house is located in the archipelago of Stockholm, near Vaxholm. Additionally, I have a house in the beautiful "High Coast," approximately 5 hours north of Stockholm by car or train. At that latitude, there's also a pretty good chance to see the Aurora Borealis, the northern lights, between October and April.

Of course, I provide food for three good meals a day and adhere to a maximum 25-hour working week, usually less. I felt it necessary to mention this, as some people have had less than ideal experiences with other hosts.

Based on my experience, what I'm really looking for are people who can assist with some of the following tasks:

Landscaping and gardening, including knowledge about plants.
Cleaning with meticulous attention to detail; quality is prioritized over speed.
    Organizational skills.
Cooking; although we all contribute to preparing meals for lunch and dinner, it's appreciated when someone puts extra care and love into the food.
    Ideas for interior design changes.
Carpentry skills including plastering, woodwork, painting, electricity, and plumbing. I have a comprehensive selection of power tools, and even a professional carpenter and electrician will be satisfied. I do not compromise on the quality of tools.
General mechanics, particularly with tractors and cars.

Ideally, you are 24 years or older and have some experience in maintaining a home. If you are younger, please share your relevant experience with me.

Due to the diverse range of tasks, I often have several volunteers at the same time, especially during the summer season.

I also spend time in my apartment in the city center, where I also require assistance. You will have your own private room there as well.

Volunteers can enjoy activities such as swimming, canoeing, sauna sessions, bicycling, and local sightseeing. I also have a private waterfront in the archipelago (Vaxholm) and a fantastic sandy beach near the northern house (Härnösand). Vaxholm serves as an excellent starting point for exploring the Stockholm archipelago on day trips while still providing the opportunity to visit Stockholm city on free days.

I occasionally host special Swedish evenings featuring typical food, often seafood, and share insights into our traditions. I might even sing if you're unlucky. ;-)

I provide excellent, unlimited WiFi—after all, who can live without that? Accommodation will be provided in your private, cozy room. Typically, I host 2-4 volunteers at a time, with occasional visits from friends.

As a passionate traveler myself, having visited 123 countries worldwide, I have plenty of stories to share, and I'm keen to hear yours. I enjoy socializing and aim to create a travel-friendly atmosphere for volunteers during their stay at my place, much like what I appreciate when I travel myself.

You'll have the opportunity to sample traditional cuisine and customs (and perhaps some less conventional experiences like wine tastings). I'll share insights into our traditions and offer lessons on maritime life and construction. With my extensive knowledge of Stockholm, I can guide you on what to explore in the city. I enjoy conducting boat or car tours, providing insights into our culture and history. Additionally, I'm fond of outdoor activities such as short hikes or skiing during the winter months.

    What else ...

There's an abundance of activities to enjoy in Stockholm, and Vaxholm serves as an ideal hub for exploring the Stockholm archipelago. From swimming and hiking to jogging through forests, biking, enjoying drinks at local establishments, or even trying your hand at fishing—there's something for everyone. Plus, frequent public transport options by boat or bus make it convenient to journey to and from the city center of Stockholm in a single day.

In the northern region, you'll find breathtaking hiking trails, picturesque mountains, opportunities for climbing, and a high likelihood of witnessing the captivating Aurora Borealis. If you're interested, I'd be happy to guide you through these experiences.
