  Hello hello dear volunteers !
  
  I am very enthusiastic about a new project close to the Pyrénées mountains. I just bought a barn in a fantastic village and I need some help to renovate it.
  So I am not going to be in Capbreton this summer.

  I am a former globetrotter who came to live in the village of her ancestors! it's a nice place near the ocean, with beautiful forests around. A great place for the slow life ! I work as a family therapist with my practice in my house, and I use my free time to volunteer with migrant people, or for environmental projects ... I also volunteer with Workaway at hosts' homes abroad and in France : I was in Portugal in January 2023. I love to meet people, to share, to talk about what drives us each in our uniqueness...
  
  I wish to meet people interested in exchange, who will want to know me as I want to know them. I don't consider workaway as "I do what I'm told, my "job", and then I'm free to go out on my own".
  
  I was lucky enough to have volunteers who were very involved, who took initiative, and with whom I had a lot of fun... and I hope to get to know more of them! Maybe you ?
  
  My experience shows me that it is easier when the volunteers are not too young, because I am already 56 years old and if the gap is too wide sometimes it is difficult to find common interests. But of course it depends on the person. It was always very nice with people around 27 and above.
  
  Even though the house is pretty normal, we live with ecological concerns, such as waste control, eating organic food, taking care of water use, walking and cycling rather than using the car ... I am myself vegetarian but I do eat fish sometimes.

  Salut les volontaires ! Je suis sur un nouveau projet, la rénovation d'une grange dans un super village des Hautes-Pyrénées. Juste au pied des montagnes. Je me lance là dedans toute seule, et toute aide serait précieuse.
  Le village se trouve à 1h de Pau et 1h de Toulouse.
  
  Cet été je ne serai donc pas beaucoup à Capbreton.

  Je suis une ancienne globe-trotter qui est venue vivre dans le village de ses ancêtres ! c'est un chouette endroit tout près de l'océan, avec de belles forets autour. un joli lieu pour la slow life ! je travaille comme thérapeute familiale avec mon cabinet dans ma maison, et j'utilise mon temps libre pour faire du bénévolat auprès des personnes migrantes, pour des projets environnementaux ... Il m'arrive aussi d'être volontaire grâce à workaway chez des hôtes à l'étranger et en France. J 'étais justement comme volontaire au Portugal en janvier 2023. J'adore rencontrer les gens, partager, parler de ce qui nous anime chacun dans notre singularité.
  
  J'aime bien faire découvrir ma petite ville, et tous les endroits sympas. J'ai envie de rencontrer des personnes intéressées par l'échange, qui auront envie de me connaitre comme moi j'ai envie de les connaitre. Je ne considère pas workaway comme "je fais ce qu'on me dit, mon boulot, et hop je suis libre pour sortir dans mon coin". J'ai eu la chance d'avoir des volontaires très impliqués, qui prenaient des initiatives, et avec qui j'ai bien rigolé... et j'espère bien en connaître d'autres !

  Mon expérience me montre que c'est plus évident quand les volontaires ne sont pas trop jeunes, car j'ai déjà 56 ans et quand le gap est trop important c'est parfois difficile de trouver des sujets d'intérêts communs... mais bien sûr ça dépend de chaque personne ! Avec des personnes de 27 ans et plus ça c'est toujours bien passé !

  Our house is less than 10 minutes walk to the ocean. The town is 5 minutes walk. It is a little town quite quiet when it is not holiday time.
