At home, we speak French, but we all know English, a bit german and a few words and songs in Inuktitut. We live in a multicultural city (with 4 official languages in Nunavut : Inuktitut, English, French and Inuinaqun), with a some of traditional Inuit activities organized by local associations. For exemple, every April is a igloo building contest and dogsleed races during the Toonik Time Festival. Reading on the Nunavut and its people will be a open mind and polite thing to do before visiting this land.

We are looking for persons who will enjoy playing with kids, going outside and helping in the house (like cleaning, playing board games, cooking, etc. ).

Our kids enjoy skiing, biking , building Legos , board games and would love to learn music instrument (they did drum dancing and fiddle during summer camp) and to play outside.

We like to bake bread, cake, lasagne and to make our own dill pickles.

During weekday, the workaway usually babysit some hours per day, play out with childre n, and help with house chores (washing dishes, loundry, sweeping...) and have plenty of time for discovering the city and hiking into the tundra and do his personnal hobbies.

We love pasta, veggies and meat. We appreciate when our visitor help with the preparation of some meal and it is great when he/she/they enjoy it with us. All meals are included for during your stay, and we asked our kids to eat all their plate, so we expect the workaway to show good example by not being picky eater.

He/She can use a little Internet, not excessively (it's limited, expensive and slow) and, travellers are expected NOT to use any screen (cell, phone, tv,...) on their time with the children and family. Their is NO Internet coffee shop or public Internet acces in town, so if a traveller require lot of Internet data, we suggest him/her to buy a personnal cell phone with datas.
