    Description

First where we live! Our home, on 2.5 hectares, is in the beautiful area of West Cork, within earshot of the ocean, between the town of Clonakilty and the village of Rosscarbery, both really nice places. We are 3 to 5 kms from some super surf and swim beaches. A 10 minute bike ride will get you to the nearest beach and an 8 min drive will get you to the great pubs and music gigs of Clonakilty. PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU DO HAVE TRANSPORT THERE ARE SO MANY PLACES TO EXPLORE IN YOUR FREE TIME AND IT WOULD REALLY MAKE YOUR STAY EVEN BETTER!

This region is renowned for hospitality, good food, music, art etc. There are people from everywhere and whoever you are from wherever, you are guaranteed to love west Cork!

As for us!! We are now retired from 20 years of hard intensive organic farm work...yet we still have a sizeable area to manage. This is no longer a commercial project but it is massive play-park to maintain! The plan is to slowly re-wild the farm, ie. planting of native trees, propagation of bushes, allowing old grasses to recover, improving insect habitats etc etc. There are presently 3 bee hives on the property.

Work will vary from being involved in the above, to managing our 250 blueberry bushes and re-constructing its storm damaged bird-cage, (& of course, the joy of picking the berries when in season!), Also, clearing out and transforming old henhouse spaces to a workshop spaces. We also have an bnb and welcome help with cleaning and getting organized to welcome guests.

Anyone out there who wishes to come and stay with us for a short while and give us a hand, you will be more than welcome! Lots of stories and good food guaranteed.
