    Description

I've moved from being a rancher in the south of Minas Gerais state, and got a farm in Bahia, at Chapada da Diamantina.

It's a recent planted coffee field (6 hectares). Now we need to weed, irrigate and fertilize it.
We're also building a greenhouse to produce more coffee seedlings.
Besides de coffee area, we need to plant, harvest, process (for own consumption) the fruits and vegetables.
There's no fixed schedule. Hours may and will vary everyday.
It's a farm! So we may have snakes, scorpions, spiders...

There's no schedule. It might rain. It might be too hot. So we can make a list of to-do's and do it together.
We might have a full 9 hours day of work in one day, but do nothing for one or two days because of the weather.

The farm is 10km from Piatã (20.000 inhabitants) town. Around 2h drive from Vale do Capão, Palmeiras and Igatu, and 1:30h drive from Mucugê. There's no transport to move around, but we can arrange to go together to town when needed (i usually go two times a week). Also, we can go to waterfalls, mountains and other areas around the region (when arranged between us, and on my free time).

I live here by myself, the city don't have much to do. So come prepared to not have much human interaction =)

There are two houses at the farm. You can either stay at the guesthouse (2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen and livingroom), or at the guestroom in the main house if the other one is full.

    To get here by plane/bus:
From Salvador: there's a bus once a day to Piatã. Leaves at night and arrives 6am. Novo Horizonte bus company. Only sell at the bus station.
From Palmeiras (Capão) or Lençóis: take the van to Seabra and another van to Piatã.

    House rules:
Keep everything clean and organized. Put things back where it was taken from.
I usually don't have dinner. The guest house has a fully equiped kitchen and you can feel free to cook if you want.
You will be resposible for cleaning the place you're living at. Bedroom, bathroom, livingroom and kitchen. Also, the bed sheets and towels. I'll provide the cleaning products.
Expensive stuff like olive oil, honey, granola, are not included!

On day off, we can arrange to travel around the region. Chapada da Diamantina National Park is HUGE and there's a lot to do around!

It's a farm! We might have snakes, scorpions, spiders and other friendly (and not so friendly) animals.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I moved here early 2023 because I fell in love with the region. The culture, the people, the waterfalls, caves, trails, everything.
So I believe that not only can be an amazing experience and exchange of knowlodge and culture between myself and you, but also you'll love the region!

  • Help

    Help

I look for a pair of hands to help at the farm. We'll work together planting, taking care of the crops and everyday fixing. Yep... Things always need a fix at a farm.

I also need some good pictures and videos.

There's no fixed schedule, but no laziness as well.
To be strong, have farming experience, etc are NOT required. But remember that work at a farm sometimes is demanding and heavy. So to have a good physical health is kind of basic.
