We are Canadians (B.C and Ontario) new managers of a Hostel Campground. We offer a beautiful campground, dorms and hammocks to our guests.
We require volunteers who speak Spanish and English who are willing to work for 4 hours/day 5 days/week in exchange for accommodation in one of Costa Rica's prime surf spots.
The hostel / campground property has secure parking, bar, relax rancho with hammocks, great independent and spacious common bathrooms with toilets, showers and shelves and of course good vibes. We compost and recycle and promote an 'eco' lifestyle. We have a happening social scene, great tunes and small bar.
Sleeping accommodations are a tent (ours or yours) in our campground. Meals are not included but we have an outdoor common kitchen shared with the hostel guests.
Children are also welcome to stay for free or at a very nominal price.
Our needs right now focus on strengthening our internet presence, website construction and maintenance, hostel reception and cleaning. We look forward to hosting you!

This opportunity will allow travelers to become immersed in a busy, friendly multi-cultural hostel and campground. They will be required to interact with people from all over the world putting their language and communication skills to the test. Volunteers will always have friends to hit the beach with and will get a taste of living like a local in this bustling surf town. Volunteers also receive 10% off any tours or trips that they wish to take from almost any operator in town.
We require 20 volunteer hours a week. We are less than a 5 min walk from the beach. At this point in time we really need help to boost our internet presence. This includes building and managing a website for us, managing our Facebook account, taking and posting photos and interacting with online requests. We are also a prime camping spot for Costa Rican people and residents of neighboring Spanish speaking countries. We wish to reach out to these communities online to let them know that we are here, especially in preparation for Semana Santa celebrations in April. Receptionists will have any variety of tasks related to running a hostel including translations, booking tours, booking rooms and camping sites. Also included is cleaning bathrooms, dorms and doing laundry. Those with childcare experience may be asked to participate in our beachside hostel daycare program.
Private accommodation available in a tent (ours or yours) in our campground. Lockers included. Drinking water is free and high quality. Shared bathroom in a separate building from the dorms. Outdoor shared common kitchen.
There are limitless things to do on your time off here. Surfing, yoga, zip-lining, free-diving, snorkeling, crocodile tours, paddle-boarding, baby turtle watching, dolphins, catamarans, off-shore surf trips, volcanos and hot-springs. All of these things are accessible by public transit or by booking a tour (at 10% off the public price)
