    Description

We are an English couple who have been working on our own to bring this beautiful property back to its full glory, but could do with a few extra hands.

We offer accommodation, and fresh home cooked food. We are veggie so no meat or fish, just plenty of homemade cheese, butter and yoghurt (happy to teach how to make these if interested), fresh homemade bread (again can show how). If you fancy it you can also have a go at home cooked pizzas. I do an english version of Melanzano Parmaggiana which is a traditional dish in this area and of course a mean Sunday Roast and Yorkshire Pudding with gravy.

We have two king-size bedrooms and if you like the outdoors plenty of places to put up a tent or park a caravan - electricity connection possible.

We have two female dogs who are friendly. We have a young Rhodesian Ridgeback who is growing fast and loves playing ball, plus our nutty Dalmatian who loves cuddles.

We need help with moving an old boiler, grass cutting, wood logging and chipping, planting, installing solar panels, repairing a wooden gazebo etc. Most of the work is outside but if the weather doesn't permit we have plenty to do inside as well.

Other skills we can pass on include car mechanics, welding, cheese and yoghurt making, cookery and general DIY skills.

I also make homemade soaps which I sell at local craft fairs if anyone is interested in seeing how these are made or having a go yourself. My husband is a trained mechanic and can teach you the basics of car maintenance as well as welding and some DIY techniques.

Help could also be needed with looking after the cats and dogs we have rescued and who live in pens outside. And of course our brood of chickens that give us fresh eggs every day.

Evenings - you are welcome to sit outside and enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine, playing cards or having a good old chat. Or if you fancy a movie night we have over 400 films to chose from and full Sky TV.

Non smokers only please and no residency applications. Only genuine willing hands. If you want to practice English then we can certainly help. Both of us speak without a broad accent.

    What else ...

We are remote. There is a bus route but it's limited and stops around 6pm each evening.

Modena is accessible by car, about 45 mins away from where its possible to get trains to Venice, Florence etc. The Mazzorati, Ferrari and Lamborghini museums are closeby.

As you would only be expected to work 5 out of 7 days per week we have no issue with dropping you into the local village or to the nearest bus route and collecting if want to explore on days off.

There is also a local bus route into Veggia, Castellorano and Sassuolo where its possible to get the train to Florence and other locations.

We have a decent internet connection via satellite which I also use for work. Mobile signal here is also pretty reliable, there's 5G on one side of the house and 4G on the other.
