    Description

We, Kerry and Lisa, are creating a retreat and demonstration farm endeavor to heal the planet and ourselves in the remote Andes! At this point we are in the development of: gardens, cabins, the conference center, and many more exciting pieces in creating a place that is close to paradise! We celebrate the opportunity to prove and demonstrate a new model of agriculture in the mountains of northern Ecuador. With amazing natural beauty, Intag is known for its many clear cool rocky rivers, steep green mountains and abundant bird life. Most earn their living on small family farms, persisting with a model of traditional agricultural even though challenged by the cost and toxicity of purchased inputs. Whereas, our sustainable agricultural model optimizes the health and diversity of the life of the soil. When soil life is balanced:
    - Plants have constant availability to nutrients: resisting insects and diseases, and produce nutrient-dense food.
    -Weeds are suppressed.
-Nutrients are held in the system and are not lost to ground and surface water.
We accomplish enhanced soil biology by:
    -Making and using therapeutic composts.
-Making and using charged charcoal (bio char)
    -Using trees (agri forestry)
As a volunteer you will be connected with one of the most beautiful places on earth and filled with inspiration (quite literally from the air with enhanced prana only found in certain places in the world as ours. You'll learn all about our practices for enhancing our planet's soil. You will connect with native, indigenous food and medicinal plants, apiculture (bees), aquaculture (fish) and ecological building practices.

This healing place also includes Breathwork, Yoga and Nia-based movement where one can literally change oneself by changing their breathing and lifestyle practices. Our intention is to offer retreats of many sorts (we have some already scheduled for 2019) depending on group needs and desires.
The natural world thrives by cooperation and so do we. We look forward to the exchange of ideas with you. Together we can "be the change" by contributing you and your skills to healing and renewing for the highest good of all and, our planet!

Lisa and Kerry have both been studying wellness, gardening and natural healing for more than 3 decades. They also both are very knowledgeable at creating meals from healthy foods and herbs.
Lisa has been Conscious Breathing Practitioner for 20 years. She is a Reiki Master, Shamanically-trained and a facilitator of Gracelight Blessing. Sher believes when we breath consciously as a community there exists the potential for healing all of us and the planet.

We are in the growth phase so any help with construction is welcome for the remodeling of the old farmhouse or cabins. Also, we are creating garden beds so the days are filled with planting, weeding & watering, harvesting and pest management. Food is primarily from our farm so help with preparation, meal planning and clean up needed. We mainly eat vegetarian, lots of our own beans but we do also have beef raised on our pasture.

    Accommodation

We live up a 1/2 mile drive, remote, so an ideal place to find quiet and beautiful views (our waterfall) around our 70-acre property. You will have your own bedroom and shared kitchen. All meals are provided with the understanding that with food available you might have to make a meal or two for yourself in the course of a week. Conditions are camp-style in that water isn't plumbed into old farmhouse at this point and we use a compost toilet.

There are numerous tourist and hiking options in this beautiful valley of Intag. We are only a 1 1/2 drive from Otivalo and the closest town, Apuela, is a 20 minute drive/1 hour walk.
