Hola!, mi nombre es Pedro, soy argentino y llevo 4 años viajando por América Latina. Tengo 34 años y me dedico desde pequeño a la música y la pintura, pero hoy en día busco aprender sobre otras tareas y nuevas habilidades. Me interesa el trabajo con plantas, la construcción y carpintería, los idiomas y la interacción con personas y culturas locales e internacionales. Llevo algunos años participando en voluntariados, hostales y fincas, y aprendiendo del trabajo en el campo, permacultura y técnicas de autosuficiencia. También disfruto la cocina y el trabajo en equipo.

Hello!, my name is Pedro, I am Argentine and I have been traveling through Latin America for 4 years. I am 34 years old and I have dedicated myself to music and painting since I was little, but today I seek to learn about other tasks and new skills. I am interested in working with plants, construction and carpentry, languages and interaction with local and international people and cultures. Soy egresado de la escuela de cinematografía y producción audiovisual. Actualmente estudio música, guitarra clásica y flautas del mundo. También tengo práctica en dibujo y muralismo (ver imágenes en galería), bioconstrucción y jardinería. Experiencia en atención al público y recepción en hostales (Booking, hostelworld, etc). Hablo español e inglés con fluidez, y estoy estudiando francés. Aprendo rápidamente cualquier tipo de actividad. Lleva conmigo bolsa de dormir, mat de yoga, utensilios de cocina, pinceles e instrumentos musicales.

I graduated from studies in cinematography and audiovisual production. I currently study music, classical guitar and world flutes. I also have practice in drawing and muralism, painting and gardening. Experience in customer service and reception in hostels (Booking, hostelworld, etc.). I speak Spanish and English fluently, learning French. I quickly learn any type of activity. I carry with me a sleeping bag, yoga mat, kitchen utensils, paintbrushes and musical instruments.

Pasé diez días aquí. Este hotel/retreat centre es un buen lugar para relajarse, disfrutar las tardes de sol y comer mangos. Si te gustan los mangos, aquí te sentirás a gusto. Creo que es importante aclarar dos cosas: las clases de yoga no son muy frecuentes, aunque tendrás la sala a tu disposición para tu práctica personal. Lo segundo es que si tu… read more objetivo es aprender sobre permacultura, tal vez éste no sea el mejor lugar, ya que los jardineros hacen la mayor parte del trabajo. Sin embargo si eres buen observador y proactivo, hay mucho potencial para aprender cosas nuevas. Hay al menos veinte variedades de árboles frutales, una gran huerta, y mucho tiempo libre para leer, caminar por los jardines, cocinar, hacer música o explorar las montañas y cascadas de la zona. Las habitaciones son cómodas y privadas, el agua es caliente y la cocina es completa. El espacio compartido de los voluntarios también es genial y harás buenos amigos. El trabajo diario consiste en recoger los mangos que caen a diario de los árboles, cortar hierbas, limpiar los senderos, y ayudar en algunas tareas del hotel. Si tienes alguna habilidad especial como pintar murales, tomar fotos y videos, o algo por el estilo, no olvides mencionarlo, porque Wilson es súper abierto a tus propuestas. En mi caso tuve plena libertad y apoyo para pintar dos murales, a mi propio ritmo, con lo cual mi tiempo aquí fue muy agradable.

I spent ten days here. This hotel/retreat center is a good place to relax, enjoy sunny afternoons and eat mangoes. If you like mangoes, you will feel at ease here. I think it is important to clarify two things: yoga classes are not very frequent, although you will have the room at your disposal for your personal practice. The second thing is that if your goal is to learn about permaculture, this may not be the best place, since the gardeners do most of the work. However, if you are a good observer and proactive, there is a lot of potential to learn new things. There are at least twenty varieties of fruit trees, a large orchard, and plenty of free time to read, walk through the gardens, cook, make music, or explore the mountains and waterfalls in the area. The rooms are comfortable and private, the water is hot, and the kitchen is complete. The shared space of the volunteers is also great and you will make good friends. The daily work consists of collecting the mangoes that fall daily from the trees, cutting grass, cleaning the paths, and helping with some tasks at the hotel. If you have any special skills like painting murals, taking photos and videos, or something like that, don't forget to mention it, because Wilson is super open to your proposals. In my case, I had full freedom and support to paint two murals, at my own pace, which made my time here very pleasant.
