    Description

We have a small home dairy goat herd and will be kidding out 46 does (LaManchas) so expect approximately 100 kids this year that will be hand raised. We also have chickens, ducks, rabbits, and a horse. In exchange for room and board, we'd love an extra hand during kidding for feeding babies and possibly help with milking depending on the person. Help in the barn with bedding and feeding, cleaning waters or building new pens and shelters or help in the house cleaning up milking equipment and baby buckets or cooking would be great. Our busiest time will be early April until late June.
We're flexible and appreciate indoor or outdoor help. We would enjoy sharing our unique experience with you and this would be a great opportunity to learn about goats. We have a spare bedroom with a queen sized bed and have a camper available in case a person would rather have more privacy and be outside. We have a fire pit for bonfires not far from the house and encourage someone to make themselves at home on their time off. We are a non-smoking household and appreciate people respecting that. We all enjoy a good sense of humor and try to be as laid back as possible but we do have some very busy times around here.
Enjoy bicycling and lots of peaceful fresh air in your down time. Nearby Riding Mountain National Park and lots of museums are in the area, two hours from Winnipeg.
