Hostel in search of a volunteer to help at a Backpackers palace in the Caribbean.

    Help wanted ASAP.

'Ahhhh, lovely Livingston!' said someone once.

Within a country previously torn apart by violent criminal activity and scruffy politics lies a little paradise called Livingston. We offer a safe haven, distanced from the tight grasps of the thirsty blood-sucking neighboring cities.
At this hostel, you will learn to work together to survive with minimal resources, outsmart your friends, and defeat your enemies. Each volunteer will begin with a zip-lock bag containing a flashlight, fire blanket and an old pair of snub-nosed scissors.

So the truth is, we are an easy and fun hostel located in a beautifully remote town, close to the ocean and the amazing Rio Dulce canyon. There are four shifts per day, which we rotate among about 4 other staff members. Your job is mainly to interact and socialize with the guests, make drinks, create a good atmosphere, offer handy information about town tours, reaching their next destination and show them the best way to enjoy life in Livingston

You will get two days off every week, which will allow you to go on some day tours yourself (at dirt cheap price), learn Spanish, siesta on the hammocks or nurse a hanger. We have a one-month minimum commitment, you will receive two free meals per day, menu breakfast and family styled dinner, discounted price drinks, weekly bar tab and your own room (loft) or a bed in the staff dorm (4pers.). All our volunteers really have been brilliant and some become part of the furniture, some returning for Round 2, and others recommending us to their friends...

If you're interested, send us a message letting us know exactly when you can come (and for how long) and giving us some details about yourself (travel & volunteering experiences, level in English & Spanish and any special skills that could be helpful here at the hostel).

You will interact with local staff in Spanish, learn about the local Garifuna culture and spend time with people from around the world. Jungle, beach, waterfalls and rivers at walking distance. We also offer the cheapest 1 on 1 Spanish lessons probably in the world for volunteers!
