First of all, I would like to thank you for the wonderful time I had. I stayed in Reichenau for a month (09-06-2025 to 06-07-2025) where I was able to do and learn many different things. It is a very beautiful place, located between two mountains, so the view is truly magnificent. You can also go on beautiful walks and bike rides, which I definitely did. The work is very varied; I helped with cleaning, helped in the vegetable garden, and looked after the sheeps and goats. I also did lots of different small household chores. I had a very nice room in the old house, which was beautifully decorated. There were other workawayers besides me, so I got to know a lot of new people, some of whom I still talk to. Lise and Ferry are also very nice and hospitable and welcomed me with open arms. I often think back on my time in Reichenau and everything I learned there. I miss the place and the mountains very much and hope to return again someday. It was my first project through Workaway and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes being outdoors and rolling up their sleeves!

Erik and Tubea were great to have come stay. They were hard working considerate and honest people. We loved learning acrobatic skills with them too.

I stayed at Jenny and Pontus place for 2 months and it was an unforgettable experience! This was my first workaway experience and I think this place was perfect for that. Jenny is an amazing host and has a lot of experience with workawayers so that everything is well organised. She is such a lovely person and we had so much fun together. I loved the stories she told over dinner and the trips we took together. One time (due to her sister cancelling last minute) she even took me to see Ed Sheeran in Stockholm which was absolutely incredible! Jenny is very good at communicating so it was easy to talk to her when I had an issue with a task or in general. It is important for her to make everyone feel comfortable and at home. Pontus is also very easy going and funny. He is always happy to help and great to talk to. The work was always manageable. You get a list of tasks every morning that have to be done (some are daily tasks and then the specific tasks for the day). That way I was able to plan my day to my liking and most of the time the limit of 5 hours was kept (some days less some days more). The tasks range from feeding the animals, riding, help tidy the house and depending on the season also bigger projects like fencing. I was there during summer so the other workawayers and I had a blast fencing in the sunshine and listening to country songs <3. The horses were absolutely amazing and lovely to ride. Jenny rides western style and you will mostly go on trail rides. I could tell that the horses enjoyed going out and they are all very well taken care of. Jenny works as a farrier and I learned how to take off a horses shoe. She has a lot of knowledge about horses and was able to teach me so much. I felt like I was able to ask her anything and she was always happy to teach me something. The kids are so nice and easy going so that babysitting never really felt like a task. They loved playing with us and even helped us with our tasks. I met many other workawayers during my stay which was so fun. You live in a cozy cabin apart from the house which you share with the others (depending on if you are alone or not). Jenny usually tries to have about 2 or 3 workawayers at a time which I really enjoyed. The work is more fun that way and it was lovely to go on trips and do movie nights with the girls. All in all I would recommend this place to anyone. This was such an unforgettable experience and already miss everyone so much. Thank you for everything Jenny and Pontus!

I stayed with Gaby for almost two months and it was a life changing experience! I enjoyed every day having to work with my full body, gardening, taking care of the animals, and helping with cleaning in the house. I would definitely recommend her if you want to experience what it is to live as a farmer, and get the best high quality food you could ever have, the one you grow yourself. thank you so much Gaby for your kindness, your patience with me, for teaching me a lot about self sufficiency, and sustainability!

Hyper-loquacious and hyper-active girl this one! An avalanche of energy which must be controlled by lots of different projects to keep her busy! Amazing artist (check her instagram profile, not jocking!) amazing singer, fantastic chef, with some good bartending skills and a special connection with kids (when it comes with art, labs and creative activities) We had some arguments, but it's a normal thing when you share different experiences and perspectives. Be that as it may, I can't thank her enough for the opportunity she gave us to probably change a little bit our point of view regarding many things here on farm! Thank you Mad!

Yelva and Jamie stayed with us for two weeks in September. They did a lot of varied tasks in and around our house. They prepared a very delicious meal including also dessert while we had two friends coming to our place. They also made apple cakes for storage in our freezer and some everyday meals. Other indoor work was connected to sewing, cleaning and fixing a folding curtain we had had on the agenda to do something about for a long time. Outdoors they helped put up a scaffold, paint a wall, clean an area for small trees, take away a lot of overgrown grass from our path way, clean the car and work on rust problems regarding the car. They also joined us to work on the fields of a local farm. All in all they were very eager to do proper work and not afraid of trying new and unfamiliar tasks. It was a great pleasure to have them staying with us. They are easygoing and easy to communicate with.

This workaway was perfect in every way and I can't recommend it enough. I couldn't have asked for a better host. Marco truly cares about this project and all the workawayers that help him. He is so generous and will take the time to listen and explain and always has great advice to give. He made sure we always had everything we needed in the house in Monte Cima and was always reachable if we had any problems. I traveled to Monte Cima with my little dog Tobine and was so happy to see Marco and the other workawayers welcome him with open arms. It truly felt like home for the month that we were there. The work is physical but very rewarding and doesn't take up too much of the day. The rest is spent exploring nature, visits to the river for swimming and a chance to wind down and connect with yourself as well as the other volunteers. (There's a fantastic platform built by Marco and previous volunteers surrounded by trees with a great view of the mountains. The sun shines onto it for most of the day and it's a favourite spot for me and many of the other workawayers. It's perfect for yoga, especially in the morning sun.) This was my first workaway and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. If you're thinking about this stay but can't decide, I recommend going for it. You won't regret it!

Beatriz was a joy to host! She’s lovely, picks things up really quickly, and was such a big help during harvest time – the house ended up full of jams, veggies and herbs. She’s also a great cook (the pesto and crumble were amazing!) and it was lovely hearing her play a bit of guitar too, hope you’ll get more chances to play it during your trip! Hope to see u again. Best wishes!

It's been a pleasure to be hosting Macy this summer! A really kind person, genuinely helpful and patient. Despite the hot weather - which she handled fearlessly- has always carefully took care of the chicken coop, helped with veggies harvesting, helped with some daily cleaning and food preparations! How not to mention the skewers we once did together until late night! A good mannered girl, wich was a good balance beetwen the hyperenergetic farm life and the rest of the team! Thank you Macy! Becouse you are Macy...🎙️

Jasmin is a lovely young woman. It was a pleasure to host her at our little farm. I gave her the task of collecting pony poop and mulching around my trees and shrubs. A slightly daunting task, well done. She made herself cozy in our little camp shed and was able to use our house for the facilities. We took her on several outings and she even got her wish - to see bears ( a black bear momma and her two cubs). She is quiet, polite and reliably self guided. Happy travels Jasmin!

Conor is a top guy and talented Workawayer. Over the 10 days he spent helping me with my project we reached some significant milestones thanks to his help and experience.  I'm so grateful and pleased for what we achieved, and it's truly given me a renewed belief and motivation.  Some of the jobs we worked on were:  Plumbing work: We installed a skink for the bathroom Carpentry: Conor gave my old front door an impressive makeover; replacing some of the rotten wood panels with reclaimed panels, as well as installing a new lock. We also installed a new gate for the driveway. Building work: We plastered some walls and installed a new concrete ramp access. Besides our hard work, we had a good laugh along the way. Conor brought his guitar with him and has a repertoire of classic songs to belt out and was always up for an adventure.  Hope to catch up again soon!

We had the pleasure of hosting Gaurav and Shambhavi at our resort, and they were nothing short of exceptional. From the moment they arrived, their enthusiasm and motivation shone through in everything they did. They tackled every task with care, paying close attention to detail and ensuring everything was done to a high standard. Their teamwork was seamless, and their positive attitudes made them a joy to have around. We wholeheartedly recommend Gaurav and Shambhavi to any host as they are reliable, hardworking, and truly wonderful people to work with.

Abe stayed with us for almost two weeks and was an incredible help on the farm. With great energy and heart, he worked like a powerhouse on renewing a drainage system – shoveling with endless strength and motivation. Together we also scraped the kitchen walls, prepared apples for drying, and tackled many other little projects. Abe is full of positive energy, always up for a laugh, and a real team player. He enjoys working hard just as much as going on adventures, and he has quite the sweet tooth too! I can hardly believe he is only 23, as he has already seen and learned so much in life. I wish him many more exciting adventures ahead and can highly recommend him to any future host.

Sarina volunteered with us from August to September, taking on a dual role as both an Activities Volunteer and Yoga Instructor. From the start, she showed great initiative and reliability. Once she understood what was expected of her, she took full ownership of her role and needed no follow-up, always punctual, proactive, and consistent. Her yoga classes were a real highlight, often full and always receiving wonderful feedback from guests. Beyond that, Sarina was a strong hiker and natural leader, guiding our hikes confidently alongside her co-volunteers. She also helped host our braai nights, movie nights, and games nights, bringing warmth and enthusiasm to every activity. What truly stood out was her initiative. She even encouraged guests during her off time to join activities at our sister hostel, helping to create a lively, social, and connected environment. Friendly, dependable, and a great team player, Sarina brought real value to our team. It’s been a pleasure having her with us, and we wish her all the best as she continues her travels and future goals.

Vojta was our first workaway helper and he was just fantastic. Vojta is a very sensible, polite, smart and hard-working guy. He helped with some building jobs, and was just unstoppable. He even kept smiling when lifting heavy wheelbarrows! He also helped with some cleaning, harvesting, planting... Everything done with thought and precision. It was thoroughly positive experience. Thank you, Vojta!

I had a wonderful 2-month experience here. The other Workawayers were all super nice, and the atmosphere felt really friendly and family like from day one. The island itself is beautiful with a great climate, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. The work was varied and interesting, mostly housekeeping, but also helping with the bikes and rentals, which added a good dynamic to the days. François was always available to give help whenever needed, making everything smooth and easy. Overall, it’s the perfect place if you’re looking for a warm atmosphere, diverse tasks, and a truly enjoyable Workaway experience.

This stay was nothing short of magical. I stayed for a month helping out with different tasks, with a lot of time to explore beautiful Shikoku. It is an incredibly gorgeous place with rich connections to both people and nature. Words cannot describe how deeply grateful I am to have been a part of it for a while. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

It was a pleasure hosting Julia. She’s very respectful and responsible. Her help with everything, from taking care of the horses, to inside house work, was greatly appreciated. She is very good at asking questions when she is seeking clarification & does her very best work every day. Julia is funny, smart and while allergic to many animals still loves them so much! As a biologist, you will have great conversations with Julia. Her English is very good too. We are so lucky to have our paths cross with Julia.
