As I'm back in europe for some weeks now, my memory from the stay at Mark and Kanani keeps shining like an star for me 🌟🌟❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 They are a very nice couple on one of the most beautiful places I get the chance to see in NZ. Their passion for planting trees, and other plants, taking care of mother Earth really impressed me. This people really "walk the talk". The tasks around the property are easy, and they having the right tools for the tasks. Kanani's wounderful artwork was to enjoy both inside and outside. Mark is always up for an deep talk, and is an great comunicater with big understanding of language. Totally a 6 stars experience 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Rosela and Paola stayed with us for about two months over the summer, and we are very grateful for all their help. They’re both wonderful people—easy-going, kind, and always ready to lend a hand wherever and whenever it was needed. They supported us with the kitchen, the garden, and housekeeping, and did everything with a positive spirit. Hard-working during the day and great company in the evenings, whether it was playing a board game or sharing a cozy chat by the fire

Charlotte is so nice, calm and very helpful. She adjusted well to our busy schedule and took initiative herself if she could see that something needed to be done. She was also very engaging and never said no to a game of basketball. We enjoyed hearing more about Brisbane and it made us want to visit some day. It is already around two years ago since I was at your place, but because your profile was paused shortly after for a long time, I could not write a review until now. Finally! Thank you for welcoming me to your place. I was happy to learn about living in Korean countryside and learn about KokSunDo. You were so gracious as to give me a rest. Of course, the nature is heavily restricted through agriculture around the place, but nevertheless, I once saw an otter in the nearby stream. For other Workawayers, as you can see, this host is very popular. I can recommend to anyone wanting to experience Korean countryside and KokSunDo. Also to people a bit spiritual.

We absolutely loved our two-week stay with Graham and Noelle. Before we arrived, Graham told us his estate would remind us of our home county of Devon, and his promise did not disappoint. The peaceful scenery and cozy atmosphere made it feel like a home away from home. Although we visited at the tail end of winter and didn't get to experience the grounds in full bloom, it was still so so beautiful. Graham was thoughtful and fair when it came to jobs, he very much believes in tomorrow being another day. We both thoroughly enjoyed completing any job that Graham tasked us with, no matter how big or small. Noelle is a lovely individual who shared lots of stories with us and had some incredible artwork displayed all through the house and flat. They gave us lots of recommendations for day trips and even a full itinerary for our 3 day venture up to Cape Reinga. We send our love to nico, princess and prince (That's if he's being nice)

To avoid the midday heat, Mateo and I got up at 5 a.m. to do work like mowing the grass. We take a break around 9 a.m., but while I was building beehives and hornet traps, Mateo wanted to experience everything and helped me out. He can handle all the power tools for woodworking and does precise work. Having thoroughly studied giant hornets, I believe we'll be well-prepared to handle them if they invade Europe. In the evenings, he taught me the ukulele, even though I was a complete beginner. We had a wonderful three weeks together. I highly recommend him.

Nathalie and her family are truly loving and kind. They have created a warm and positive vibe in their home, and I immediately felt welcome. Their son has an beautiful smile ,bright, and polite. Nathalie and I became wonderful friends during my stay—we shared many experiences together, which gave me unforgettable joy and happiness. Their amazing beautiful home provided not only comfort but also a sense of safety, and they genuinely treated me like a member of their family. My little studio was cozy and perfect. I loved experiencing a different lifestyle, exploring Orewa and the stunning surrounding scenery. And I must mention—their dogs are the best friendly guardians I have ever met! They are such sweet angel 💕

J'ai eu l'occasion lors de mon voyage en Corse de faire un court passage chez Laurent et sa compagne. Laurent s'est montré très flexible par rapport à son agenda personnel afin de pouvoir m'accueillir. J'ai pu à cette occasion l'aider dans quelques tâches dans sa maison. J'ai eu un très bon feeling, et ́nous avons eu des discussions intéressantes. Merci à Madame pour les repas délicieux et copieux. J'ai réellement apprécié ceux-ci. Merci de m'avoir octroyé du temps libre afin de pouvoir faire de la randonnée et par cette occasion faire mes premiers pas sur l'île de beauté. Ce serait un plaisir de vous revoir. Portez-vous bien. I spent 10 days at Lauren's house and I thank her for her hospitality. She was always available to explain the tasks to be done and trusted me. I also enjoyed discovering a calm environment close to nature, as well as sharing moments with her. Thank you again for this experience and all the best for the future! 😊

Javier and the team here are super friendly and make you feel like part of the family. We loved the accommodation and the city so much we stayed for a month. Thanks once again for hosting us. We would love to return one day!

Ada is a fabulous host. She is warm, and friendly and has a gorgeous property overlooking the lake. The accommodation was so comfortable we extended our stay to stay three weeks. She is an excellent Spanish teacher and we appreciated the private lessons on our doorstep. We highly recommend Ada as a host.

It was a pleasure to have Annelies come and stay. She was a huge help and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended

I’ve been lucky enough to spend the month of September with Chantelle and Mike’s family, and it was the best decision I could have made. From the very beginning I felt welcomed, just like at home, very comfortable sharing spaces with them, and they took great care of me. I truly feel like part of the family, and I’m really sad I couldn’t stay longer. The tasks are fair, and Chantelle is always clear with her instructions. I really appreciate that during the days when I wasn’t feeling well, they were very flexible and let me do tasks more suited to my situation. During the tasks, they gave me autonomy and independence, which has been really good for me. They showed me beautiful trails near the house, and whenever they could they drove me to Salmon Arm and recommended places to visit rich in wildlife (keeping in mind that I’m a biologist) or fun activities to do (I love climbing, and I was able to go several times to the climbing gym in Salmon Arm, which I definitely recommend, by the way). I also loved going boating on Shuswap Lake with Mike. I really enjoyed spending time with the family and chatting about life. Batsy is absolutely adorable -if I weren’t allergic, I’d take her home with me :)) They are a wonderful family -kind, fun, dynamic, open-minded, and always full of interesting experiences to share. I highly recommend doing your Workaway with Chantelle and Mike. See you soon <3

Definitely recommended if you want to feel a real balinese connection and you want to have an impact on the future of these young apprentices🥹 Honestly my expectations were different! I thought i was just going to teach english to young students and instead i found a second family! Putra and his cousin Dede are two young men i will definitely bring with me for the rest of my life, as they took me under their wing as a brother more than a friend. For this i am super grateful🥹♥️ Regarding the project, Putra's parents started this small project to help young kids (from around age 6 to 20) understand that english isn't only grammar! It's so much more! You'll play lots of Q&A's and games, the schedule is very flexible and it's gives you the chance to explore all that the region has to offer. I would say it is a very humbling experience and it honestly filled my heart with such joy, it's hard to find the words for, can definitely say i left a piece of my heart with them🥹♥️

We had a great experience with Emily. She's very cheerful, friendly, and patient with my English... 😅. She adapted well to our home, and Kuyul enjoyed the walks. Thank you so much for all the gardening and climbing wall work! We hope you have a great trip! 🥰

Excellente expérience chez Cécile, ses enfants sont adorables et Aaron adore joué au foot. Il y a beaucoup de choses à faire dans la ferme, ils ont pleins d animaux et 4 chiens adorables don Rocky qui est jeune est à plein d énergie.... J'ai apprécié mes 2 semaines, je faisais pleins de choses différentes, c était interressant et dépaysement total au calme, loin de tout ! On ne s ennuie pas ! La chambre est confortable... La ferme se situe 35minutes à pied de l arrêt de bus et il y a 2 bus un tôt à 7h30 et le retour à 14h. Merci Cécile pour tout, je vous souhaite pleins de belles choses pour la suite à toute la famille.... Cedric

i had great time with Carol and Rick, for 2 weeks, in their little paradise with magnificent plants and flowers in a middle of the Island, the nature and all around are amazing.... Carol she is very hard worker, she knows a lot of things and Rick knows a lot about animals, he was a veterinarian in the US. About the help, they are so many things to do, like cuting lot of the grass for the goats, gardening and much more... They have 2 cats and lot of goats in differents area.... i learn lot of things and I was able to taste the fruit of the miracle, its was interesting to try this amazing fruit, who are forbidden in many countries, and they had so many exotic fruits... After I'm done helping, I use to love swimming at the bottom of the garden in the clear river.... i like rick soup and they had always lot of delicious honey... and the location is near to Jacko Steps, and some waterfalls and Waitukubuli trail segment.... Thank again to Carol and Rick, wishing all the best....

Bonna was a lovely person to have around. She is honest and trustworthy, eager to learn new things and adapt to our way of living. She helped us with gardening, taking care of our dogs, cat and chicken. We even had the chance to go away on vacation and felt confident enough to leave Bonna in charge, it all worked well !! She also helped me with my son several times. I highly recommend Bonna to anyone looking for a hard worker, honest and good vibes person.

“Unfortunately, my experience with this host was very negative. We had been in contact for two months and he confirmed my stay, but when I arrived he was not there, his phone was switched off, and I was left without accommodation. This situation caused me a lot of stress and unexpected extra expenses. In addition, he asked me to buy a specific type of cigarettes (Camel) from Geneva airport which cost me around 150 CHF, something completely inappropriate and not related to the spirit of volunteering. This was a very unreliable experience and I strongly advise future Workawayers to be cautious. I kindly request to be contacted by the Workaway team regarding this experience.”

I spent a total of exactly 100 days here and had the best time ever! I made many close friends and never had to feel alone. We worked from 8am to 1pm with two days off per week and had the whole afternoon freetime to go to the beach. tasks: usually Lounging, Stretching, doing horsemanship, washing the horses or taking care of the arenas, building courses, greasing tack, assisting in lessons, doing some paddocks . good things: - we got to ride atleast ones per week, I learned a lot in the lessons - many animals - They really take good care of their animals and they all seem very happy and healthy - there is AC in the room - There are so many beautiful beaches around where you can go surf everyday (avellanas and Tamarindo are like 20min away with a car and other beaches around 40min, renting a surfboard is around 10-20$) - Especially Isa (one of the riding teachers) is the nicest and took really good care of the volunteers and was always here for us when we needed something - we were able to do some longer trips on the weekends (but if you want to see as much as possible from Costa it’s maybe not the best place to be because most of the tourist places are pretty far away) bad things: - we don’t get any help with transportation (there are some bicycles there but it’s really exhausting and a long way to go somewhere), so the nearest supermarket is around 4km away but without renting anything you will be stuck on the farm. To rent a car it would be atleast around 28$ per day and to rent a motorcycle around 18$ a day - we don’t get any food or anything at all for the kitchen - In the rain season sometimes it’s difficult to go do something (really only beaches around, no indoor activities and Tamarindo is pretty small). - many mosquitoes and bugs - it's hot and sweaty But all in all of course I can really recommend it there if you love animals, the nature and going to the beach everyday. It was really hard to leave this place but I will be back.
