I stayed 3 weeks here, and that workaway experience was my favorite so far. That place is a little paradise in the middle of Guria. The atmosphere here is really warm (not the weather :)), locals, volunteerd and also the animals are really nice. During these weeks, I ́ ve been sanding beams, building walls, did some insulation work and installed door frames. Working hours are always made in a good mood with other volunteers. And as previous volunteers already said, the food is incredible everyday !

Zahra and Thomas are amazingly positive people and super wonderful helpers! I enjoyed their company tremendously! Both have a strong interest in birds and insects. They are very knowledgeable bird watchers. It was a pleasure to have some fellow bird and nature lovers at my place and share our experiences. Apart from fully enjoying the wildlife at my place, Zahra and Thomas also did a lot of work in the garden and in and around the house … absolutely anything that I needed help with. As I said above - super wonderful helpers! Kakite and all the best!

I spent the past two weeks at Wieke's. It was fantastic, and it was my first workaway experience. We worked hard in the garden. My girlfriend Rose was also welcome to help. Besides all the hard work, we also did some fun things like hiking in Cartagena and visiting the market in Almoradi. I also had a great time with Fabian and his great sense of humor 😉 Thank you, Wieke, for the wonderful time. I will definitely come back again. Best, Elle

Nina is a full power committed Volounteer; she helped us with heavy duty tasks like planting trees in very difficult conditions :) She worked in the gardens clearing vegetation, preparing soil for the next growing cycle and helped with painting the exteriors of a wooden house. All in her short stay on 10 days. Her very positive and uplifting attitude makes working together an enjoyable experience.

Our experience with Frida was blissful! She gifted us with her open heart and positive vibes, always ready for action with joy even for some extra working hours. She took care of our place while we were gone; taking care of the animals and plants and as the serious cat lover she made sure that each cat was extremely cuddled and cared about :) Our cats are missing her a lot (especially Zero and Dhuny). Frida is a skilled woodworker and artist with great confidence with power tools. She made so many bigger and smaller projects including beautiful drawings that will always remind us on the times we spent together. Frida dear, you are always welcome to join our team again.

Best host you can wish for! Loved spending time at this beautiful place and the projects. Giovanna is truely the best caregiver and host. She is the sweetest. We miss her already and would love to come back and help her soon. All the best and love to you, Rojin and Amin

We just finished our 28th project, and this one was another super one! Every morning started with 'Just another day in paradise!' and it wasn't far from true :) Craig and Rachel are superb hosts. They warmly welcomed us and took great care of us during our 10-day stay. We did several trips around the area together—like the farmers market in Matakana and a morning swim with the locals in Mathesons Bay,... Our favorite place is now Omaha Beach; I finally caught a fish there, so it must be! The work was hard, as usual: harvesting wood, fighting toetoe plants, some weeding, cutting grass, and building wooden constructions for a future weed-proof slope. There's endless stuff to do in places like this. We really appreciated that Craig and Rachel made sure the jobs kept changing. You never get stuck doing one thing all the time, which makes a huge difference. We made our own breakfast and lunch from the food they provided, but the real highlight was dinner every single evening. Craig is a chef, and honestly, every evening felt like eating in a Michelin-star restaurant. The food was incredible! The company was great too; we had fun sharing traveling stories and plenty, plenty more. During our free time, we had so many options: snorkeling, swimming, kayaking, hiking around, or trips to Leigh Scenic Reserve. There was always something new to do. The beach is only a 10-minute walk away and it's gorgeous; it belongs to Goat Island—New Zealand's first marine reserve. The very first time on a kayak and a seal started following me. The first time I snorkeled, giant snappers (maybe 50-60 cm) were swimming right around me! These are just a few examples of how epic the place is. This was a shorter stay for us due to a collision with another workaway project. Next time, we will definitely stay longer. We can only highly recommend this place. Thank you, Craig & Rachel, we had a great time! Wishing you all the best for the future. Cheers!

I spent two wonderful weeks with Anna and Graham, and it was truly an amazing experience! I’m so grateful to them for hosting me — they made me feel completely at home. Most of the time, I helped with gardening tasks such as removing weeds, spreading mulch, trimming plants... Anna and Graham are incredibly welcoming, kind, and knowledgeable, and they were always happy to help me. During dinner, we had lots of great conversations. They even took me out to the beach, hiking trails, a beautiful nearby town, and one of their performances. When they found out that hotels in Vancouver were expensive, they kindly offered to let me stay longer. ❤️ Their property is absolutely beautiful — the house, the garden, everything! The room I stayed in was very comfortable, the coffee machine was amazing, and they even have a hot tub! Highly recommend staying with them — don’t miss the chance!

Darren and I stayed 2 weeks at the Vegan Farm. It was a wonderful experience, full of learning, beautiful nature, kind people, and delicious food. The day would usually start around 8am, Pure prepared breakfast for everyone to have between 8-9am, and then we would have our morning meeting at 9am to discuss what needs to be done at the farm, how to divide the work. And also we would discuss which kind of things we would like to do, such as learning more about mushrooms, bamboo constructing, if someone wanted to give any other workshop, if we wanted to go to Phayao, see a temple, a waterfall.. It's a community lifestyle that is created with Pure and the volunteers. The work is usually around 3 hours, and some days we took it more easily or for free. Pure doesn’t really impose any strict rules or ways of doing things, or even what to work on on a day to day basis. But in general terms there are things to be done everyday, like helping to cook lunch and dinner, working in the garden, and harvesting mushrooms. Then there are spontaneous jobs that you can take charge of depending on the necessity, like building chairs of bins out of wood or bamboo, fixing some electricity sockets, and so on. Our perception was that he expects you to have more of an initiative on things. It can be good because it takes the pressure off having to get things done in a certain way, but also it can take some time to adapt to this spontaneous way of working. We had a little cabin for ourselves, which was really nice to have our own space as a couple. There are some single and double rooms, and I imagine sometimes people have to share when the farm gets really busy. So we felt very grateful to have our own space for those 2 weeks. There are 2 bathrooms in the farm, a washing machine you can use to do your laundry, lots of beautiful spots in the farm to relax and take your time, including a wonderful pond to swim in. Pure is very generous and trusts in the good will of people, so sometimes even allows volunteers to use an old motorbike and exceptionally his truck. People come and go all the time during high season, which means energy is changing all the time. This can be nice because you meet a lot of new people, but it can also be quite challenging at times to have to start getting to know new people all the time. Like we said, we really enjoyed our stay, we learned a lot and we are very grateful for the space Pure has created to live closer with nature.

What a wonderful time we had together! Thank you, Miguel and Michelle, for all the hard work you put into the garden. You were always there to lend a hand, and what I loved most was that you truly enjoyed the work! Together with Miguel, we planted quite a few trees, cleared the wild berries along the goats’ fence, and collected more leaves for the food forest. Michelle did an amazing job weeding and creating space for even more berries! I was delighted to connect with your Andean energy and happy to help you find your way around Germany. We hope you continue to enjoy your travels and have an amazing time wherever you go. You’re always welcome back—abrazos! 🤗

We spent three wonderful weeks with Tailor, Neil and their little boy Finn, in a beautiful region where Mount Myoko became part of our daily view. Their home is filled with warmth, joy and generosity; a place where good vibes are truly contagious. On our days on, we spent our time painting a new project, and decorating and on our days off, we had plenty of time to explore the surroundings and enjoy the area. Every evening we came back to the lovely Workaway community, Finn’s laughter and Tailor and Neil’s great energy. Three inspiring, refreshing weeks surrounded by amazing people. Thank you again for this break that went far beyond our expectations! Camille & Joe

Matteo was a cheerful and easygoing guest. It was interesting to hear about his life, home country and how he truly cares for his chickens. He was very helpful and flexible, and observed all rules after being explained properly. At the point of time I realized gradually that written instructions are better than spoken, but the very best I noticed was to join and guide all activities to avoid misunderstandings that may arise through differences in language proficiency. Nevertheless, it should be noted that he has a kind heart and he is happy, helpful and grateful and will go far to make sure that everything is okay. We had a great time, and I am sure all future guests and hosts will have a fun time with Matteo as long as they are empathetic in their approach and ensure that their communication methods are kind and clear.

Zuzana was a kind, flexible and sporty guest. She was here with several other workawayers and she was highly respectful and considerate towards everyone and everything. She helped with various tasks of different scopes, and is a responsible person who plans their time well and is grateful and empathetic. It was interesting to learn more about her home country and customs, and to any future hosts or guests I am sure that Zuzana will greet you cheerfully!

Thank you so much for hosting me! I really enjoyed my stay and felt comfortable right from the start. Kristos is very knowledgeable and patiently explains everything - from seeding and soil making to planting strawberries and garlic. Katrina cooks delicious meals and brings lots of positive energy to the house. I loved our little adventures and hikes around the island! Zéphyr, their little toddler, is adorable and always makes you smile. The Lasqueti Island community is open-minded and welcoming, and I even got invited to potluck parties, which was a special experience. It’s a remote, off-grid place, perfect if you enjoy nature and simple living. Thank you for making my first workaway such a unique and valuable experience!

Sara and Mitch were a pleasure to host. They are lovely people with good manners, high standards and an enthusiastic approach to helping. Mitch did some repairs for me on the roof, cleaned gutters and did some internal painting. He knows how to use tools and operated safely. Sara is a wizz in the house and left my windows sparkling. They were both great in the garden, working with care to remove weeds and doing some hedging. They are at the beginning of their Australian adventure and we really enjoyed having them in our home and our community. I think they enjoyed the beach activities, living close to nature and becoming part of our village life. We wish them well for the rest of their travels and would welcome them back.

Sam is simply a dream host. From the moment I arrived, I immediately felt his great generosity and natural hospitality. If you stay with Sam, you will be thoroughly pampered and you will be able to enjoy his fantastic cooking while enjoying the great comfort of a beautiful house. The work was simple and varied: gardening, watering, mowing the lawn, housework such as cleaning, sorting or polishing silverware. The working hours are flexible. Sam is an energetic host who is always there for his guests. He helped me with all the administrative tasks when I arrived in New Zealand and introduced me to Auckland and its surroundings. He is truly the perfect host for discovering life in Auckland. I would like to warmly thank Sam for everything he has done for me.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ash and Michael's house. They are a very welcoming and lovely family. We also enjoyed the time with their dog Dali and their daughter. We felt like a part of their family! The work was around the house, like gardening, helping with the household and walking the dog. The working time was very flexible to plan and appropriate. Thank you so much for the nice experience!
