🌍Profile Update

Hello and thank you for visiting our profile 🌸

We started our Workaway journey in April 2025, and it’s been such a meaningful and enriching experience so far. Here’s a little glimpse into where we’ve been and what we’ve done:
• In Italy, we stayed with a kind couple, helping in the vineyard, around the house, and taking care of their lovely dogs
• Then we joined a children’s camp in Austria, where we first volunteered and later worked as cleaners, we gained lots of experience and really enjoyed the team spirit
• Back in Italy, we helped run a small campsite
• After that, in Tuscany, we spent time on a horse farm, helping out with daily tasks
• Our next destination is Greece, where we’ll be part of a campsite project

Looking ahead:
We’re searching for a paid position (from January to April 2026) in Spain, Portugal, or France
And from May to August/September 2026, we’re looking for a paid opportunity in Norway, or any Scandinavian country, willing to work for a whole season

About Us
We’re Regina and Markó, a couple from Budapest, Hungary. We’ve been living together since 2022, but we both grew up in the countryside, and we miss being close to nature, that’s one of the reasons we started this journey.

Markó
He’s 25 and a trained horticultural engineer who’s crazy about nature and thanks to him, Regina has learned to love it too.
He knows a lot about plants, gardening, and eco-friendly growing methods.
He also recently finished a carpentry course, so he’s got some basic skills with wood, still learning, but really motivated to keep improving, he really likes any kind of construction work.

Regina
She’s 29 and works in dentistry, but her heart is in healthy living and good food.
In her free time, she loves taking care of our dog, Kifli, and exploring new ways to stay healthy and balanced.
She’s also really interested in herbs and natural remedies, something we both enjoy learning about.

We both speak English, Markó is fluent, and Regina’s getting better and better. We also love learning new languages and are always up for the challenge.

Kifli
He’s our five-year-old dog (15kg), a neutered male Border Collie mix.
He’s part of the family and always comes with us on our travels. He is fully vaccinated and healthy.
He’s super friendly, well-behaved, gets along great with people and other animals, and adjusts easily to new places.
We’d love for him to be part of future Workaway stays too.

Why We’re Doing This

We’ve always enjoyed hiking and traveling, mostly around Europe, but we left our lives behind, trying out new places to see where to settle.

We want to:
• Get to know different cultures
• Connect with local people
• Stay longer in one place and be more than just tourists, maybe find our future home
• Be part of daily life and help out in meaningful ways
• Learn new skills and grow from new experiences

Our Experience

Although we currently live in Budapest, we regularly spend time in the countryside. On weekends, we often visit Markó’s family in Vác, a small town in Pest County, or Regina’s family in Eastern Hungary. These occasions always remind us how much we love rural life and work.

Regina has high organizing skills, she is always present, making everything work. She is open and willing to learn, not afraid of any job around the house

Markó loves any kind of DIY projects. He is experienced in gardening and woodworking.
