Description

We are Brooke and Stacy (both 31 years old).

We are from the US (Stacy-TX, Brooke- NY), but have lived all over for the past 8 years (Spain, China, Costa Rica, Canary Islands, Mexico).

We love volunteering abroad to learn new things, form connections with new people and immerse ourselves in new cultures. We are both responsible and reliable, non-smokers.

Brooke is a driven and compassionate artist who loves meeting new people, sharing stories and immersing herself in new cultures. In 2014, Brooke spent a month living at The Yoga Farm, an off-the-grid permaculture farm and yoga retreat center in Costa Rica for a work/exchange program and it sparked her interest in sustainable living, learning languages and a alternative ways of travel. Brooke spent 3 years teaching English in Spain and loves the Spanish language and experiencing new cultures. She loves working with her hands, as a ceramic artist she has managed ceramics studios and helped to build and maintain kilns. She grew up helping her father with his wide array of construction and rennovation projects and loves keeping her hands busy. In her free time, she enjoys scuba diving, making art, gardening, and planning her next adventure. Brooke is currently a part-time Travel Agent and creates her own schedule.

Stacy is adventurous, energetic and thrives on exploring in nature. Whether it’s running through scenic trails, hiking up mountains, biking along winding paths, or seeking out thrilling new experiences, Stacy is always up for a challenge Her passion for physical activity is matched by her curiosity to discover new places and push herself along the way. In 2015, Stacy went on a service trip to St. John, USVI, which sparked her love for travel and deepened her connection to the natural world. She then lived and worked teaching English in China for 4 years. On top of teaching abroad, she has experience substitute teaching and working as an ‘on-board’ nanny on boats. She enjoys any tasks that keep her active and engaged. Currently, she works remotely part-time (20 hrs/week) and for the past year, she has been able to maintain a balanced routine of work and adventuring as her and Brooke have travelled around Mexico, Belize, and Asia.

In 2022 we spent a year and a half traveling together, completing a work/exchanges all over the world, at a hotel in New York, Costa Rica- rainforest care, animal care and housesitting, and as hosts at Casa Tagumerche, an off-the-grid artist residency in the Canary Islands. We both would love to learn more about sustainability, community, new cultures and eco-tourism. One day, we hope to open our own sustainable artist residency to be able to share new experiences and ways of life with others.
