Description

I'm an introverted IT guy from the Czech Republic, currently living in Finland.

I'd like to expand my understanding of other ways of life, and get exposed to different perspectives.

I'm interested in music and languages, and have been actively practicing both for a long time.

For my Workaway experience, I'd like to be involved in meaningful work, whatever it might be, as that is something I'm currently missing in my daily life.

I consider myself reliable, principled, honest and direct, and I highly value these traits in others.

I'm new to Workaway, and currently I'm mainly open to some short-term work in or close to Finland.

I have certain online commitments, so a functioning internet connection is important to me.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a degree in computer science and several years of experience working as a software engineer.

I've had certain limited exposure to public speaking and leadership in office environment, including some management and administration that comes with it. Leading meetings, communicating ideas for the team, and being responsible for the delivery of results.

For a time I cleaned offices (my first teenage job).

Once I helped create voice-over audio files (Czech and English) for cultural sites in Spain, as part of a bigger international group participating in an ESF funded project.

I enjoy working with house animals, and have lived with cats for many years. I don't have any certifications as an animal caretaker, though.

I play piano and understand music theory, I'm enthusiastic about playing and composing music. I'm able to teach it to some extent, as a hobbyist.

I'd like to expand my skills related to house maintenance, gardening and farming. It's something I have never done (apart from maintaining my parents' lawn and watering plants), but I'm interested in.

I smoke a pipe recreationally during summer time, but have no addiction. I would enjoy a pipe outdoors, but if my host is against it, I can be for all practical purposes a non-smoker.
