Description

Hello, my name is Sammy, . I am a gardener, herbalist, and soil lover, I find myself in the world continuing to learn about the plants growing around me and the medicine used in the region. My hands want to be in the dirt, so I am here with my hands on my phone reaching out to connect with a place where I can do this.
I have worked as a farm hand for 5 years, primarily tending to seedlings, building gardens, planting maintaining and harvesting food crop, and about a season of working with sheep, pigs, chickens, and cows. I absolutely love this work, it is a way to keep me connected and grounded while I travel and cannot tend to me own garden.
I am community oriented and love to work with kids and support in parenting and am an auntie 3 kids I live with. I am a creative at heart, and have found so much joy building relationships, sharing meals, and learning what I can in the places I explore. My passions lean towards family caregiving and land regeneration/sustainability. I have done many volunteer and work trades in my life and find it the best way to connect with community, culture, and the life of a place.
I’m on my way to travel around the UK and Ireland to explore the places my bloodline is from, and connect with ancestral practices and magic. Looking forward to meeting and connecting with you!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have worked on a handful of farms and have done my own gardening for years. Most of my jobs in the last year have been in small scale regenerative gardening/garden maintenance. I have worked as an apprentice at a sustainable learning center, community and farm member in New Mexico, garden apprentice at the California school of herbal studies, and assisted in small and large scale regenerative projects. I’m a seed saver, stoked on soil ecology and have been taking classes from Elaine Ingham.
Outside of working with the land, I have run a business teaching childrens theatre, have been a caregiver for the elderly and young, as well as birth and postpartum doula care. I am a studied herbalist of mainly “western/European” herbalism. I am a life coach with Earth Pulse academy, a reiki practitioner, tarot reader, performing and visual artist.
I hope to continue to drop in with culture and connection with the land as I travel. I hope to learn different permaculture and regenerative techniques used in different regions and continue to develop my understanding of this all.
