  • Description

Hello there! My name's Lisanne, I'm 28, half British, half German, easy-going, open and always looking for laughs and sharing stories with strangers. I'm hoping to see more of the world over the next few years, get out of my comfort zone again and again, adventure and connect with more wonderful people. I have a great love for the outdoors and believe spending time in nature and reconnecting with our beautiful planet is what I really need more of in my life. I have never been very career-focused and at the moment am choosing to simply have fun outdoors and see where it takes me.

I am currently in Canada with my IEC visa to work and travel and have so far spent the winters in Rossland, BC, snowboarding at the epic RED mountain and the summers road-tripping & tree planting. I will be heading back to the UK for the coming summer 2025, but have a second visa ready to go, and will be back in Canada for at least another year! I love this country and its nature and the ease with which I can explore the outdoors in any season.

In my down-time, you will find me hiking, stretching, reading, writing & drawing when I feel inspired, cooking meals FULL of vegetables, and always on the hunt for a lake, river or ocean to jump in for a swim. I have travelled alone a lot and am pretty independent. I cherish time alone but also adore company and storytelling over good food!

A bit about my journey so far:

At 7 years I moved from Germany to Durham (United Kingdom), at 18 I went on to study Ancient History at the University of Edinburgh, then did my CELTA English teaching course in Cape Town, where I discovered a love for teaching and spent a year teaching kids English in Italy & Cambridge, I then travelled some more and ended up in Amsterdam 3 weeks before the first covid lockdown and then stayed for 3 years, working in hospitality, babysitting, freelancing as a copywriter and I also ended up doing a masters in European Studies, with a focus on identity & integration.

I speak English and German fluently, although my German is a bit rusty these days, and look forward to hopefully meeting you soon!

Side note: I have my own car in Canada at the moment so can easily travel to you! (I am also on the hunt for a place to park my car for 2-3months this summer (2025) while I am back in the UK if you have that possibility do let me know :) )
