-Introduction/ What we are looking for-

Hi! We are Freja and Gustav, a couple from south of Sweden who are looking for experiencing another way of living. We are from the densely populated part of Sweden called Skåne. Here, the landscape is flat, there is lots of cities and life has a high tempo. We don't hate it, but we miss mountains, nature and snow . We would love to stay somewhere more remote, maybe on a farm, somewhere where life, nature and animals are more intertwined than here.

Does this sound like you? Then we think we could be a good fit and we would love to work with you, and learn from you. We are disciplined, kind and curios :D

-A little more about us-

Ever since I went on my first hiking trip in Jämtland when I was 19, I've felt this deep desire to go north. I'm an artist and there is nothing that inspires me more than my hiking trips in the Swedish/Norwegien mountains. The feeling I get when I'm surrounded by mountains, when the sky above me is filled with stars, when the spring sun is shining on my face or the autumn winds are howling in my ears... that's what keeps me painting. I love history and folklore. My art is filled with reindeers, wolves, creatures from nordic folklore, deep dark forests, snow covered landscapes, and the nordic lights dancing on starry skies. However, as much as I love the loneliness of Nordic nature, I also love people. That’s something I have in common with my boyfriend Gustav.

I love to travel because I love to meet new people, especially people who lives a life that’s different from mine. I get new perspectives on the world and I get to know myself better. I also love to travel with Freja and experience things out of the normal together. I don't want to live without having lived. I don't want to jump strait into the rat race. I want some stories to tell the grandchildren when we sit around the fire place one day. This year, me and Freja traveled to Iceland to work over the summer. It was an amazing experience, we made a lot of new connections and saw some fantastic nature. Now, we want to continue our travels together in the Nordic countries!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

-Our skills/our prior experiences-

We are physically fit, like to work with our hands and love to be outdoors. Freja loves to organize the furniture in her home, put up new shelves or picture frames she finds in the thrift store. Gustav used to work in a warehouse, lifting car decks, so heavier physical work is no problem. Freja have experience in maintenance and housekeeping from working at a Guesthouse in the remote countryside of Iceland. We both love to cook meals together, especially if we can use something that's home grown. Freja loves to garden, especially herbs, tomatoes and pumpkins.

We both love animals! Gustav has a cat, and Freja a dog. Freja is used to being around horses and took riding lessons as a teenager. During our summer in Iceland, Freja also had the luck become friends with someone who had Icelandic horses, and spent a lot of time among these amazing animals. We are both used to working with children, Freja from working at a kindergarten and Gustav from being a thai boxer trainer for kids. Gustav loved training the kids and kept doing it for a long time, even if it took a lot of time and paid nothing. We could both be described as being curios and eager to learn. But it was fun and rewarding seeing the kids make progress. We have a positive mindset and are good at cooperating with other people. A skill that we practiced a lot this summer, working in Iceland at a busy restaurant.

Autres infos...

We both would love to learn more about different outdoor activities. We have experience hiking in spring, summer and autumn but if you have knowledge on winter hiking, that would be awesome! We have lots of experience in alpine skiing but we would love to learn more cross country skiing.

We are very creative, Gustav plays the guitar and Freja paints. This year, Freja is planning on selling her art on a Christmas market so if there is any desk she can work on, that would be great!
