I got the opportunity to travel for a few weeks in Jan/Feb 25, to leave dark and cold Berlin during the winter and to use that time to reconnect with a part of me that has its roots in Puglia. So, I'm super excited to spend some time in Puglia, learn about the area, the different places, how people carry themselves, the taste of the food, the landscapes and vegetation, and did I mention the food already? :)
And then my nonna in Gargano will have her birthday in early February, so of course I'll visit her and close this nice circle of events.
And I'm not gonna lie, making this plan initially gave me some stress because being confronted with my Italian part always gave me some stress and then I thought... that's excatly the reason why I need to go!

Living in the big city comes with its advantages and disadvantages and to balance out the time that I can't spend in a calm state within nature in the city usually, I'm looking forward already to get some balance there.

Some years ago my first experience volunteering was with WWOOF at a permaculture garden in the south of Sicily, my first actual trip to Italy as an adult. It was an amazing experience, having this everyday routine, synchronizing with everyone who was involved in the project and learning about some aspects of permaculture. We mainly prepared the ground to dig holes to plant and supporting the arrangement for catching and keeping water e.g. with small stones that we placed around the plants. We also did some filling of olive oil cannisters to be shipped all over Europe.

I'm the happiest when I can sing a little along the things that I'm doing, when I'm in movement with my body and when I can joke around with others, taking life both serious enough but also not that serious if possible.

I don't have many videos of me presenting any skills but i have the one i uploaded for another project where i am seen working at a hostel and cleaning the Farmer's Room (almost a real farm 😅).

I think everyone has a million talents & skills, right?
So, where do I start with mine...

good communicator
I know how to build things with basic tools and with drilling machine.
I know how to do household chores from my own and from working in hospitality.
I know how to cook simpler dishes, sometimes its vegan by coincidence :) And I love to prepare meals or finger food for friends and happenings. I'm super curious to know veggie / vegan receipes from Puglia!
I can drive a car and I'm actually really amazing with parking it hehe.
I'm an expert in moving things (after moving more than 30 times in my life)...
I have an eye for style, for colours and colour combinations.
I have basic knowledge on taking care of animals.
I'm good at learning new things / tasks / routines.
