Description

My name is Christiane (Chris) and I am 56 years old.

I love travelling and meeting people from around the world. I also love teaching and learning languages. A few years ago I went to India to do volunteer work with a charity to empower, teach and educate women and girls in Rajasthan.

千里の道も一歩から English Translation: A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. I think that this a wonderful Japanese proverb and I am convinced that it takes a series of steps to achieve success.

Earlier on in my career I founded and managed my own language school (Teddy Bears English) teaching children from the ages of 3 to 6 years English - a job which I thoroughly enjoyed :). In my free time I have taught small children at Sunday School for many years.

During my life I have travelled extensively with my family, friends or alone throughout Asia, the USA and Europe.

Why am I keen on travelling and meeting people from different cultures? Because I wholeheartedly believe in the following quote by Mark Twain: "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did".

I am also an enthusiastic runner at distances from 10km to marathons.

I currently live on the island of Sicily in Italy with my husband, although we also spend part of the year at our home near Stuttgart in Germany. I have two children ages 24 and 22, one of whom lives in England and one in Germany.

I have an MBA from London Business School and have spent most of my career teaching languages as well as International Business & Management at university and college levels.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am a qualified language teacher with many years of experience teaching English and German at various levels to both adults and children. I also speak Italian proficiently and speak basic Spanish and French.

I am a qualified running coach and have run many of the top marathons including Boston, London, Paris, Berlin and Athens. The marathon in Tokyo is also on my list :).
