Celine volunteered with us for three weeks this spring and was an amazing helper! She has excellent communication skills, always asking all the clarifying questions necessary to carry out tasks effectively. She is also a fast learner and was willing to help with any and everything that needed to be done around the homestead. She learned more about gardening and became a very good transplanter and bed-preparer. She is very capabale of doing hard, manual labor, but can also do more delicate jobs with ease. She is a great painter as well; she painted all our new bee boxes and floors. Celine is also curious, upbeat and was such fun to hang out with! I highly recommend her for any project she is interested; if she does not know much about the task at hand she will ask plenty of questions until she understands it and will learn how to do it quickly! I hope she can find other wonderful volunteering experiences along her way!

It was truly a pleasure to have Menh as a volunteer in our school. He proved to be a highly committed and hardworking teacher, always dedicated to his students and genuinely interested in improving his teaching skills. He invested a great deal of time in planning his lessons, observing classes, and learning how to teach more effectively. Menh also took on the challenge of preparing a student for the FCE exam, and the results were excellent. Beyond his role at school, he was always willing to help at home: he assisted with the garden, took care of the dog, and—most importantly to me—spent quality time with my son, talking with him, playing chess, and enjoying computer games together. Menh is an outstanding workawayer. He respected the house rules, was always helpful, and showed a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward every activity we proposed, whether games, conversation practice, online or face-to-face lessons. He was always ready to do his job, and he did it extremely well. We will truly miss him at home, and he will be fondly remembered by our students, who loved him dearly.

We could spend 2 weeks at Caroles and Fernandos house. Both of them took very good care that we are doing good and have everything we need. The location is really well connected with buses and trains and there are nice places to visit around. When we arrived we found a very clean and good equipped accommodation. Our tasks were some simple things in the garden and cooking. All of our work and meals were highly apreciated and they were always grateful for what we've done. The schedule we organised in advance so it was always fair. Thank you for your hospitality and we wish you and your family all the best😊

Dear Esme, it was such a blast having you in our team for the whole month! Esme is a super kind and empathic person who always was ready to help us out with anything. She gave a very nice atmosphere in the whole group, and got along with everybody. Esme is a very likeable person with a bubbly character that we will miss here for sure. Esme helped us in housekeeping and reception shifts, she sold a lot of tours and was very proactive in that. She made friends along the staff members but also with our guests, doing activities with them together. She was always in a good mood, lighting up the room as she entered. We had such a nice balance with her, being part of the team working together but also going out together, creating a friendship as well. Esme, we miss you and you know you will always have a second home at Soley!

This place is incredibly calm and heart-stealing. Anyone who comes planning to stay for a few days or a couple of weeks will find time flying by without noticing, weeks turn into months naturally. I personally stayed for 10 weeks (almost two and a half months), and every single day felt light, peaceful, and comfortable. Communication with Suky is very easy and clear. She is kind, respectful, explains tasks clearly, and always follows up in a supportive way. That creates a very safe and positive environment to stay and work in. This place is perfect for anyone looking for peace, good energy, and a real home feeling, not just accommodation. I've met a lot of travellers from different countries and we enjoyed conversations and culture exchange together and that's what I needed. I will definitely come back again very soon. Honestly, I didn’t want to leave at all 🤍

Kosta and Darja came and stayed with me only for 2 days. Sadly Darja was too cold in my old Spanish house, so they had to leave earlier than expected. Kosta helped me with the installation of a much needed rain drainage tube and Darja made us dinner on the last evening. We shared many talks and I learned about their experiences around Europe. They were very easy going and I was comfortable with having them in my home. I wish them the best for the future stays with workaway families and I hope Darja doesn't encounter the harsh Spanish winters again!

We had a great two weeks volunteering with the Foundation. It was interesting to experience a number of different schools and see the range of projects the charity are undertaking with local children. We enjoyed supporting the project, especially the English teaching! The volunteer house was very comfortable and welcoming and the food was fantastic! Also big shout out to the charity's new puppies who kept us entertained during our stay!

My experience in the Hostel was very lovely! Mathias is super kind and attentive. I worked with two other Volunteers, which was a lot of fun and gave me a lot of flexibility for free time! Mathias himself wasn't there while I was at the hostel, but he always checked in over the phone and was super responsive when I had questions. Tilcara is a very cute little village right in the mountains .

Mariano, che dire… Il tempo passato a Lorsica è stato davvero bellissimo e speciale. Mi sono divertita tantissimo e mi sono sentita a casa. Ho adorato dipingere le pareti, i momenti con Ollie 🐶 e vivere la natura, la comunità e tutta la “compagnia” di Lorsica. Mariano è una persona gentile, comprensiva e intelligente, e mi sento molto fortunata ad aver vissuto questa esperienza. Grazie di cuore 💛

Pasamos dos semanas con Alexis y fue increible! aprendimos mucho sobre el barro, alexis es muy buena honda y con muy buena energia! Mas que solo construccion fue una experience completa viviendo en una casita en el bosque, solo con la naturaleza, nos gusto mucho 😊 tambien el pueblo de san mateo esta muy lindo !

I stayed with Matias on his ethereal patch of land for a month during November and December. In spite of all of the chilly evenings and the rainy days, I left with so much warmth in my heart. Matias was an incredible host, he greeted me with such a warm welcoming presence. His kindness and generosity shone throughout the trip and I was always amazed by the incredible stories he has to share. Words can’t describe the beauty of the area - the glistening crystals that scattered the paths, the incredible mountains and trees that stood tall surrounding the area, the vibrant colours of the sunrise and sunset and the cosmic night skies that were scattered with luminous stars. It wasn’t just the nature that was breathtakingly beautiful, it was seeing the lifestyle and the living spaces that had been crafted with love and dedication. The work was varied, some days it was making cement or creating a stone wall, others it was painting walls and organising the workshop. But I enjoyed all of the tasks for their own separate reasons and loved learning loads of new skills! The food was absolutely delicious - it was all vegan which was incredible. Food doesn’t taste anywhere near as good now that I’m back! The peace and the tranquility of the enviroment was such a special thing, in my spare time I’d read, draw, write, explore the area. It meant that I had time to do my passions that the chaos of every day life can often lead you to forget. Living off grid over all was a uniquely wonderful experience which will be treasured in my soul for life. Whether it was chopping wood, the lizards that would pop up on the paths in an evening, creating fires for warmth and showers and the tons of incredible sights of nature - all these little things made me leave with so much appreciation for life and the little moments of joy that we can sometimes forget when within society. It was a wonderful month full of laughter, creativity, community and overall a magnificent experience. Thankyou to all the other volunteers at the time as well, your charisma made the experience a billion times more beautiful. I hope to return someday to the glorious crystal mountains! Thanks for everything Matias :)

Riccardo volunteered as an English teacher at our primary school and demonstrated excellent performance throughout their service. He showed outstanding teaching ability, thorough lesson preparation, and a strong understanding of the English curriculum. Their professional conduct, punctuality, and appearance were consistently excellent. We sincerely appreciate his valuable contribution and dedication to our school and highly recommend them for future teaching or volunteer opportunities.

We had a fantastic week with Elisa and Luca! They engaged wonderfully with the kids and staff, participated in dance, and worked on crafts together. We look forward to hosting them again and staying in touch!

I already miss everything about my time spent with Sand e Alex, really the best time spent with them in the beautiful forest of Labrit where they live, together with the bees and all the other habitants of the forest, in their wonderful houses made of earth and straw. You can learn a lot about apicolture and bio construction, you will help with all the works which are needed to do with the maintaining of hives like cleaning, collecting the wax, and we also went to do the extraction! trop cool!! Lot of things to do also in the garden, like preparing the soil, cutting prunes, making wood, and if you go in the autumn you can go collecting mushrooms!! I have been able to learn French with them, they are the best to help you learning the language since they can also speak English and Spanish! I truly felt at home with them, and shared precious moment with their family and friends. Merci beaucoup, je suis trop contente de vous avoir rencontré, vous seis les soléis de Labrit🔅 A bientôt 🐝💗

Andreas is quite a unique person, defnetly in a good way :) Communication was easy, he arrived as planned and we easily worked together. He did his task very accurate and always tried to work as efficiant as possilbe. Stressfull sitations he handled calm and professional and never had a problem with any kind of work which has to be done. Thanks Andreas for staying with us. Espessially our chats in the evening after work were funny :) Keep as you are and maybe see you soon!!

We spent three weeks with Nyaz. This is an amazing place, so close to chitwan national park than we could see rhinos coming to drink from the place we ate at lunch. Nyaz is really easy going and nice, the work was never the same, weeding, mudding, painting... There still so much to do to this place like gardening. We had amazing food and Nepali tea (thanks for the parathas!!! Thanks for everything Nyaz

Alex was my very first Workaway host, and I couldn’t have asked for a better first experience! From the beginning, Alex made me feel welcome and comfortable in his home. He’s kind, open-minded and respectful, and communication was always easy. He was also very inclusive and invited me to join his hobbies, which I appreciated, and I really enjoyed our conversations during my stay. My main task was walking Shelby, which never felt like work at all and was such a joy! Shelby is a sweet, friendly and well-behaved dog, and we spent a lot of time at the dog park — definitely one of the highlights of my days. Overall, it was a very positive and easy-going Workaway experience with a great balance between help and free time. I would absolutely recommend staying with Alex and Shelby and would be happy to come back!
