What a nice time we had in Edd's and Annika's place ! They were both super welcoming and nice with us from the very beginning. They didn't have much for us to do when we were there but were very clear about it before we arrived. It was super nice to spend time with them and their 5years old daughter, the three cats and the three dogs. They took us to visit the small city of Silves which is super nice and dropped us to the supermarket when we needed. we would come back with pleasure and be very welcome if you ever pass to Brussels !

This was my very first Workaway experience, and I spent 46 days in Attaouia. Overall, I keep very good memories of it and truly enjoyed the experience. Life in Attaouia is very affordable. Food and taxis are cheap, and most daily needs can be found in the small shops nearby (water, juice, spices, eggs, etc.). Credit cards are accepted only at BIM. The souk is right in front of the apartment: clothes on Wednesdays, food on Thursdays (fruits, vegetables, eggs). Prices are very low and people are honest and welcoming. Transportation is easy and inexpensive. There is a pizzeria with tacos and sandwiches near the taxi station. Kelaa is very close, and Marrakech is reachable by shared car at a low cost. In Marrakech, the InDrive app is reliable, always available, and much cheaper than regular taxis. A dry cleaner is also nearby, and the best bread in town is sold every evening around 6pm. Cultural exchange is the strongest part of this experience. People often come to talk to you in the street, especially children. I really loved going to the school, only a 5-minute walk away. Asmaa is kind, supportive, and always willing to help. Bringing school supplies (paper, markers, glue, cardboard) is highly recommended, as children love creative activities while learning. I created French learning activities that future volunteers can reuse. The main downside is the apartment. There is no sunlight, and it can be very cold in winter; a heater is almost necessary. Water supply can be unreliable due to pump issues, sometimes requiring manual resets. The shower works but is damaged, and cleanliness depends heavily on previous volunteers, so some cleaning may be needed. There is no Wi-Fi in the apartment or at the school, so a local data plan is required. Some details in the Workaway listing are inaccurate (no couscous, no Wi-Fi, misleading room photo). Despite these challenges, I still recommend coming — mainly for the children and the meaningful cultural exchange. I would come back.

I stayed for 3 weeks with Alexi and it was a really great experience!! The first few days in the cabin were a liittle uncomfortable for me but after some time I absolutely enjoyed the minimalistic setup of the cabin, making a fire inside at the evenings (it can get quite cold at night), the sound of the nearby river, and at the same time the tranquility of the whole place. The work was absolutely fantastic, again I could learn lots about working with clay, Alexi showed me everything and it's really great to work with him! - Thank you!! I can also highly recommend San Mateo, such a lovely little town, lots to explore especially when you are into music/art. It's definitely a special place with Alexi, perfect to connect with nature and the locals!

Eva es una chica con un altísimo sentido del compromiso trabaja con intensidad y gran dedicación cada minuto desde el primero hasta el último de su jornada. Tiene gran fuerza física y a la vez mucha ternura. Alan inicia la jornada con energía y desempeña bien trabajos bajo supervisión, él podría ser más productivo sin tantas pausas en el celular. Se esforzaron en compartirnos información sobre su cultura, culinaria y la naturaleza de sus paises. nos ayudaron además siempre con la limpieza en la cocina y compartimos divertidos momentos de juego. Les deseamos muchos éxitos en sus viajes.

I spent 3 incredible weeks at the mill, which flew by. All the staff at the mill are very friendly and always willing to discuss things to organise ourselves in a way that suits everyone. They were also flexible with the working hours, taking my preferences into account from day one. The work mainly consisted of feeding and caring for the animals (cats, ducks, chickens and horses) on a daily basis, followed by other tasks that varied depending on the day (chopping wood, sweeping leaves, etc.). The job leaves you with a lot of free time. In my case, I spent a lot of time playing one of their guitars, which I could use freely. I also had a good time playing cards with the mill staff and others workaways. In addition, the food is delicious and there is a variety to choose from. Thanks Claudia and the rest of the staff for this great experience.

I had a wonderful volunteering experience with Electra Joyce and Vassilis Electra is an incredibly kind, attentive, and patient person🌸🫶 I stayed at Joyce Kingdom for three weeks and it was a real pleasure. The days were organized around a morning meeting where the different tasks to be carried out were presented, and we could organize our days as we wished. Skiathos is an incredible island for nature lovers🌿💚 And the kingdom is perched in the mountains you can see incredible sunsets (Pink🤣). I hope to come back in the summer this time to discover another side of this island and the kingdom🧚🌞

Mary tiene un sentido de la responsabilidad muy alto. Cumple con lo que dice por encima de lo que sea. Se esmera mucho en encontrar siempre nuevas y mejores formas y estrategias para lograr objetivos. Es sensible y capaz de expresar sus sueños más profundos. We stayed with Maria Rosa, Eduardo and the two children for a week just before Christmas in 2025 and had a very nice stay. The work consisted of helping in the garden, pruning trees, tilling the soil, preparing areas for cultivation. We stayed in a large, nice cottage with a living room & kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. We prepared breakfast ourselves (from food which Maria Rosa and Eduardo gave us) but had lunch and dinner with the family - delicious, home-cooked food. We had many pleasant conversations and learned a lot about Spain and life on the finca. We had a very nice stay and would love to come back.

Oier was my first Workaway experience, and I couldn’t have wished for a better one! I stayed at his finca for one month and I have very good memories from this time <3 The work was easy and enjoyable, and Oier always explained everything clearly. Communication with him was very good and easy. He is incredibly kind, warm-hearted, and very funny person, living with him and his four lovely animals felt like being at home. I am deeply grateful for everything and for this beautiful experience — thank you from my heart and send my warmest regards!

Arda and Nazan welcomed me with great kindness and warmth from the very beginning. The land is vast and beautiful, surrounded by stunning scenery, with fresh, clean air and delicious water. In the separate cabin, I was greeted by two adorable cats, Pamuk and Yoda. They slept with me at night, keeping me warm and even warming up the bed, which made me feel very happy and comfortable. Although the cats go outside, they are very clean and clearly well cared for. The dogs, Moki and Jaki, were also wonderful. While protecting their owners, they warmly welcomed me as well. They are very smart, gentle, and friendly. During my stay, I helped with pruning young olive trees and maintaining the area around the cabin. I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to experience such meaningful work and spend time in nature. They also took me to Kaş several times, where I could enjoy the beautiful sea and the charm of this small town, just as I had imagined. Arda and Nazan are truly warm, fun, and caring people. I would definitely love to come back again, and I am really looking forward to seeing them again in the future:)

Fiona was an amazing volunteer—always kind, positive, and genuinely helpful on the farm. A true 100% certified mountain warrior. I wish her a beautiful journey through South America, filled with learning, joy, and great encounters.

What an amazing experience it was! I stayed with Vincenzo and Chiara for three full weeks, and I had the most wonderful time. From the very first day, I felt welcomed and comfortable with both of them, as they did everything they could to make me feel at ease. The work is very easy and is mostly in the morning, taking care of the animals, with a bit in the afternoon or early evening. Everything you need for the work is provided, even for rainy days: boots, gloves, and comfy clothes. I still had plenty of time to explore the surroundings, Lecce, Trepuzzi, and Ostuni, and to relax and enjoy some time on my own. I could use their bike, which was very useful for getting around. Chiara and Vincenzo are two wonderful people to be around. They shared their meals with me, making me disover the amazing Salento cuisine and a variety of italian TV programs, introduced me to their friends and families, took me to vegan restaurants, and even to the sea. As a vegan, it was inspiring to exchange with other vegans and heartening to see people with such an amazing love for animals, treating them as equals. This experience will stay with me for a very long time. I will miss every part of it, and I hope I will be back one day (maybe with a car and a driving licence…). Thank you to Chiara and Vincenzo for their hospitality and this wonderful project, which I hope will grow to be even more amazing than it already is!

I had such a great and relaxing time at Emily's farm. I stayed for 5 days and my work included things like cleaning the chicken house, some gardening or cleaning up the barn. She showed me everything and was there if I had questions. She is a very open person who you can have great conversations with! Also her meals were so good :)

I stayed with Alex and Holger for a month, and it was the best workaway experience ever! I had such an amazing time getting to know them and making friends. They are very funny, joyful, and kind people to be around, and they really made me feel like part of the family. They are very open-minded, and it was truly a delight to have conversations with them. During the month I spent with them, the other Workwayers and I created a compost area, removed wallpaper, organized a shed, and raked leaves. Working on their property brought me much joy, as I could see the vision they have for their farm. Every day we worked hard, ate amazing food, and spent quality time with Alexa and Holger! They are such positive people, and I learned so much about them and about Germany. We had amazing conversations and an excellent cultural exchange that has left me with the desire to visit Germany again! I highly recommend them as hosts if you are looking for a Workaway experience that focuses on the finer things in life! Alexa and Holger made me feel like family, and I will never forget them - I miss you guys already!

Nils is such an extraordinary person: I have rarely met anyone who can communicate so non-violently and thus resolve any difficult situation. He is so mindful that you learn from him to be grateful for the good things and not to attach too much importance to the bad. Nils has a big heart for people and animals, and is especially considerate to those who are not doing so well. For me as a female host it was important that Nils is not a macho man, he always communicated respectfully and is one of those men who also cleans the kitchen... Nils really likes to help with all kinds of work, provided the task is clear and he is given good instructions. And last but not least: Nils loves very large portions of food ;-)

I was totally happy and satisfied with my four weeks at Petra´s and Georg´s place. I felt myself as a castle gardener. Destroying gardener. It was necessary to cut all plants and bushes in the end of the season and to prepare them for new spring. I did not want to cut the flowers but finally I did it. I felt there as a member of the family, I loved spending time talking to them and to be with them. Petra and Georg were very helpful with getting me to the airport when I needed it. I could use the Georg´s wonderful car to go for walks with Knut. Knut and Moska (a new young cat) were excellent. They both love people:) Accommodation in their summer house was very, very comfortable. I had my own kitchen and bathroom and usually I preperared food for myself but sometimes we ate together. After time which I spent with them I travelled to Faial and Pico and came back to stay more three nights before flying back home. I felt freedom in all my decisions, when and how much I want to work. It was my fifth workaway experience and if you like to spend a lot of time outside in nature, I recommend it to you. And I am not a student, I am a retired active person and I hope I will have more such wonderful experience in future. Petra and Georg., thank you very much:)

hard to summarize how wonderful our time was with avril, alex, and their girls. from the very first day, they made us feel so welcome and comfortable. they are incredibly organized and communicative, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. they were also so thoughtful and generous in making sure we felt truly settled and at home. and aelis and alika are truly delightful to spend time with- sweet, funny, and such a joy to be around. beyond the work, they’re just a genuinely fun, kind, warm, and beautiful family to spend time with. we shared great conversations, lots of laughs, and meaningful moments, and truly enjoyed being part of their daily life, even for a short time. we feel really grateful to have crossed paths with them and would absolutely recommend them to any workawayer. we can’t wait to see them again 🤍

I had an amazing time in Orangeville. They're such a lovely familiy and made it possible, that I got the chance to try new things like Cross Country Skiing, Ice Skating and even driving a snowmobile. I also had a lot of fun with Adela while sleigh riding, playing domino or reading a story to her. Both Adlena and Veela are adorable and got used to me so quickly. The tasks werent really hard, I cleaned the cabinets and the baseboards in the kitchen and painted them afterwards. I did also some window cleaning and cooked a meal one time. They never pressured me, I could always pick what and when I wanted to work. They were also really thoughtful when i got sick one day. I loved the neighborhood and the nice little town especially with all the snow. It was literally perfect for the pre-christmas season, we made cookies, roasted marshmallows by the fireplace and sang christmas songs together such as Kling, Glöckchen, Klingelingeling :) I really appreciate everything they did for me, I had a wonderful time.
