Anything happened is reasonable. Other host cancelled my stay last minute during new year holiday season. I was so nervous about have to be alone in hostel to welcome 2026. But Nina and Bede accepted me in the last minute. Paddy, Scarlet and Joe was extremely welcoming me as soon as I arrived. They foods they cooked were delicious and healthy. I am so lucky to be with this lovely family to welcome 2026.(We had have a new year party) Working hours is flexible and easy. I help tidy kitchen and painting. You have to be here if you want to know how kiwis grow and kiwi life style. They even have the best kiwi bar😉 Thanks a lot for everything 😘

Jane and Kelly were amazing hosts and I had a lovely and peaceful time with them. I stayed for six days and helped in the garden and with making plum jam! I got to learn about hydroponics, try cherimoya for the first time, and hear some music from New Zealand artists. On warmer days I swam in the Whanganui River and I relaxed on the porch of the little cabin I got to stay in. Their place is fairly remote, but I highly recommend helping at Jane and Kelly's if you get the chance!

When I arrived, I planned to stay for one month, but the place and the people drew me in, and I ended up staying for four months. The amount of freedom made it truly possible to explore, experiment, and discover who I am in my teaching. From the start, Braeden was very welcoming and inclusive, often inviting me to meet his friends and be part of the wider community. Through this, I found a beautiful group of friends and felt deeply connected. It was also the place where I really started to feel confident and grounded in my yoga teaching. The work was mainly teaching yoga, with some small additional tasks like helping in the garden or other light chores. Everything was always clearly communicated. The food is absolutely delicious and nourishing, which really added to the feeling of being supported. On top of that, Siem Reap is a beautiful place with a special vibe, and being able to live and work there made the whole experience even richer. I’m very grateful for my time here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for growth, connection, and an inspiring environment.

We had a terrific time with Santiago and Pipi (and Lihuen!!) They helped us a lot with our language learning, they provided us with great experiences - scenic days out and a chance to immerse ourselves in local folklore (tango💃🕺) and they looked after us while we were working hard to help them build their dream house out in this beautiful part of the world. We'll always remember their kindness and the fun times we had.

The best moment of my trip! I could have stayed for months, that’s how good I felt there. The classes are amazing, and the children are truly wonderful. They learn so fast and are incredibly kind and gentle. I was welcomed in the most beautiful way, with so much warmth and generosity. A huge thank you from the bottom of my heart to Sokear and his family, as well as to the teachers, for making me feel so at home. Come with an open heart and you will be welcomed with all the love in the world. These children need volunteers to discover the world, share experiences, learn, and grow in a fun and meaningful way. Gerline stayed with us for 2.5 weeks over the holiday period. She was a hard worker both inside and outside the house and we often found her doing chores around the house without prompting. She was amazingly forgiving of our Tent bedroom for her and the renovations going on inside the house, she even helped to remove a wall and dig post holes! She was courteous and respectful of both ourselves and our house guidelines. Gerline is proactive and a hard worker and was eager to give anything a go. We would welcome her back at any point.

We had a wonderful time staying with Sharyn and David and felt very welcome from the start. Helping build a chicken coop was a great experience—David has so much knowledge to share, which made the work both interesting and educational. We enjoyed lovely meals and conversations together, with lots of laughter, especially with Sharyn. Having access to their car was very helpful, the caravan was perfect for some personal time, and running with the dogs on their large property was a real highlight. We also joined them for trips to church and the shops and met their family, which made us feel truly part of their lives. The surrounding area offers beautiful walks, and overall it was a warm, memorable, and enriching stay. Thank you so much for everything!

This was truly such an amazing experience. Out of five months of traveling, my time with this program meant the most to me. AHA is so well organized, and you really get to see the impact of the work you’re doing. Everyone is incredibly friendly and kind, and from the very beginning you feel supported and comfortable. Anyone who gets the chance should go it’s such a special experience, and I can’t wait to join another program with them.

Lennart es una gran persona, estoy muy de haberlo conocido y haber compartido tanto con él en casa. Me ayudó mucho en casa y con mi producción de tejidos, también me ayudó muchísimo en una feria artesanal navideña en la participé, me ayudó allí a organizar mi stand y vender mis tejidos. Pasamos mi cumpleaños y navidad juntos y fue muy divertido! Definitivamente recomiendo a Lennart, es un chico muy proactivo, noble, divertido, honesto y muy abierto a conocer y hacer cosas nuevas. Que tengas un gran viaje Lennart! !!

I feel very grateful to have the opportunity to visit Galapagos, and even better when i got the chance to stay for a month here! All of this is possible due to Maria and her family giving the opportunity to volunteer at their farm! They treated me just like their own family. I stayed in their house in the town for 30 days, so i have the chance to go snorkelling and diving every morning at the beach that is walking distance from the house. Although food is not included in the volunteering as mentioned, they would invite me for local food they made most of the time! They even invited me for Christmas and New year dinner with big group of family. I truly appreciate the time being with them and started to miss them as soon as i left. It feels like having a home in Galapagos, feels like I am just part of the family, living in Galapagos. I feel very comfortable and safe staying with them, as they are all lovely and easy going people! About the work, i feel like helping my own family for doing some chores. We don't have a fixed schedule or to do list before we start the day, so the chores are more random, some days could be really light works and chill, some days could be heavy works load. If you are time organising person, It is easy to fix that by just communicate with Maria every morning. The family speak only a little English, so it was a great opportunity for me to practice my spanish! I can see my spanish improving while staying with them. Steven, the son of Maria also helped to correct my spanish when he has the chance. On my last few days of volunteering, Maria even invited me to a boat tour and brought me to have picnic at the beach away from tourist spot. Overall, i think if you are looking for real local experience and stress-free family to stay with, this will be the best volunteering for you. I just feel like I were born in this family and having the opportunity to experience the Galapagos local life. Once again, big hug for Maria and her family, i love you all!

I stayed with Shay and Emily for 2.5 weeks. A beautiful place and very remote. The work was very enjoyable and dynamic. Building an outdoor enclosure for the cats, dismantling an old chicken coop, disposing of old metal and removing a plaster wall. There is a nice walk to a waterfall. And the largest Kauri tree is also nearby. Christmas and New Year's Eve were also great fun, with games, puzzles and delicious food. Shay and Emily are very open, friendly and emotionally available. It is an incredibly socially safe place to be. The massage chair and the cats are a great addition. I would love to come back here again.

We enjoyed having Alina stay with us. She was wonderful company and a great help around the house and garden. She brought positive energy and enthusiasm to everything she did, from tending the garden to cleaning around the property. Her cooking was truly delicious, and we loved sharing meals and conversations together. Alina was easy to work with, adaptable, and always cheerful. It was a pleasure to share our home with her and introduce her to Portuguese culture. She fit in beautifully with our household and made her time here very special. We created a strong bond and shared many incredible moments together. We highly recommend Alina to other hosts. We miss her and look forward to seeing her again.

Joana and Ana are very kind! Joana's place is wonderful! Great experience it was for me to spend some time with her teaching me, also me learning how to work in the farm, while being blessed of a full contact with nature and animals in a very calm/silent environment! Ana showed me one of the beaches in a nearby city; Great place to take some photos! Everything was great there! Gonna miss this place. Definitely a place where the heart links and attaches well!! Mana stayed with us for one month, and we enjoyed having her here. She helped a lot with various tasks in the garden and around the house. It was nice to observe how she implements her extensive permaculture knowledge in practice. She tackled her tasks with enthusiasm, and beyond her practical contributions, Mana was also great company. We enjoyed many nice conversations together. She has a genuine passion for sustainable living, and it was inspiring to work alongside her. We recommend Mana to other hosts and would be happy to have her visit again.

This Workaway exceeded all our expectations! Wilma and Harm are exceptional people who have created a place that reflects who they are. This was our very first Workaway experience, and honestly, it was just incredible. We spent three weeks at the finca. The days are structured as mentioned in the presentation: work in the morning from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. (with a coffee break at 9 a.m.😉) from Monday to Friday, followed by lunch together. This leaves you with free afternoons and weekends to enjoy countless activities. Go for a walk, swim in the river, go horse riding, go hiking or simply enjoy the nature around you (trees and plants, monkeys, birds of all kinds...). These three weeks with Wilma and Harm and their finca were very rejuvenating, a real break in our long journey. Wilma and Harm made us feel at ease, answered our questions and doubts and, above all, made us feel at home. The exchange was all the more enriching as we were able to communicate with them in both Spanish and English, and Antonin (my boyfriend) felt supported in practising his English. Wilma and Harm were kind and encouraging in all circumstances and taught us many things. We are leaving the finca with the desire to return and see Wilma and Harm again.

Our experience with Mary was great! She is a nice focused, detailed and results oriented volunteer! She helped us paint the farm's warehouse and although she stayed for a short time she committed to the task until it was finished, which was very nice. She also is very kind, easy going and helpful with the team! Would recommend her to any work away host :)

What a delight to have Tessa come and help us at short notice. She came as we were packing up the house and seeing animals off to new homes. She was extremely understanding that we were not in our usual routines and pitched in with all anything that needed to be done. This involved lots of the usual cleaning up after horses, feeding animals, gardening and random household jobs. She is good company, intuitive, hardworking and caring. I would see that she would fit into all sorts of volunteer roles so have no hesitation in recommending her highly.
