What a lovely little family! It was my 2md experience with workaway and it exceeded my expectations. Celine and Jerome are very welcoming in their space; both them and their kids are interesting beings : kind , fun and with some depth , spiritually . They are well travelled and open minded. They have created a nice space for themselves with views on the hills , a big avocado tree that keeps giving ; I went 3 times volunteering for them , during different seasons , I was also lucky to participate to family events . I do consider them 4 like my friends now , I do recommend. A stay with them . Food is real Good under their roof , good for the soul all around . Thank you Celine, Guillaume, Elsa and Theophile

We absolutely loved our stay with Lynne, who is an exceptional host. From the very first day, she made us feel completely at home. She is a kind, generous, open-minded person with countless fascinating stories to share, and we truly enjoyed spending time with her. One of the most inspiring aspects of this experience was discovering the incredible work Lynne does with rescued animals. She has dedicated herself to saving many animals and gives each one the individual attention they need. Watching her take the time to understand their personalities, assess their needs, and provide the best possible care was both fascinating and inspiring. The workload was very reasonable and well balanced. Our daily tasks mainly consisted of feeding the animals, cleaning enclosures, and occasionally helping Lynne with various specific projects around the property. The schedule left us with plenty of free time to relax and enjoy the surroundings. We also loved our movie nights together and the opportunity to discover delicious vegan meals. As Lynne is vegan, she introduced us to a whole new world that we had never really explored before. It was a wonderful experience that has genuinely inspired us and given us a lot to think about for the near future. We highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a meaningful and rewarding stay. Thank you again, Lynne, for everything ❤️

Alessandro is an amazing person. Very kind, very attentive and dedicated. Due to the rain we couldn’t do as much as we needed but we also got to ride through the city with him and still enjoyed the time together. It is very precious to is that we have added one more friend to our big family. Thank you Alessandro. We will see you next time.

We had the pleasure of having Abby and Luiz staying with us for a short time They are such a pleasant and nice couple to be around. Very polite and always with a helping hand. We wish them the best of luck and give them our best recommendation.

It was so nice to have Zheng Yang with us! We had to call him by his last name - Koh though, as our mandarin is very limited ;) There are some people of the "new generation" (as us old people would call them ;) ) that absolutely amaze me! They have the world in their pockets (aka the internet) and actually know how to use this! Koh is SO knowledgeable and intelligent! We had the most inspiring talks about our world and he broadened my horizon on quite some topics! Kohs motivation is unmatched: He will give every task a 100%, putting in the effort, body&mind to fullfill things completely new to him! Be it physically challenging, most boring and repetitive or staying up until 2am to help me with technical desasters preparing for a market - he will overcome his own comfort zone, never once complain, challenge himself and complete everything - independently, thought through and keeping his perfectionism! Apart from that - it was a blessing having him around the house and family. He is respectful and adaptable, he loved the kids, as they loved playing with him. He met his first purring cat and I got some laughs for he mistook it for breathing issues - sorry - just too funny xD He was all here - with an open heart, becoming part of our family! You helped me loads with the farm and are always welcome here! Thank you! <3

Nina was very great ! Always a smile on her face , she always adapted well to the maintenance task , She is good at cooking italian meals .from the first day she get along whith my friends. I strongly recommend her for any project .

We stayed with Coral for about a week and had a lot of fun! She's a very welcoming and energetic woman and she truly cares about her hosts. We did so many things with Coral, from going to several open mics, to a cacao ceremony, to explore Thatra and surroundings, we were never bored! The hours of work we did was very flexible and she would always either work alongside us or give us clear directions on what needed to be done. We did dig up soil and moved it to a canoe to make a garden bed, moved piles of mulch and then mulched a part of her garden, and some general gardening like weeding and trimming. The work is doable but mind you her garden is very uphill so it can be challenging at times, however Coral always made sure we were doing okay. Food was a big highlight of our stay as she cooked us plenty of delicious vegetarian food (we're gonna miss your falafels and coconut chia pudding). Would recommend Coral to anyone :)

My experience with this family was wonderful. The work was easy and the instructions were clear. I enjoyed Estonian dishes, a typical Estonian sauna and beautiful times in Estonian cities that I couldn't visit my last time in the country. I'm so grateful to know them and I hope I can meet them again when I come back to the beautiful country of Estonia. Highly recommend. Thanks Kai, Jaanus, Joosep and Jonathan for this experience

My stay at Monboucher was a lifetime experience. Axel and Carole are wonderful people and incredibly kind hosts. For me, it was much more than just a Workaway; it was an amazing experience. I learned a lot about the region, its fascinating history, and its delicious food. They are so welcoming and friendly that you feel at home from the very first minute you arrive. The atmosphere they create is warm, genuine, and unforgettable. Another special thing about Monboucher is that staying there feels like living inside an art gallery. The walls are filled with beautiful artwork, and every room has its own unique character. From almost any window, you can sit and admire the view for hours, enjoying the peace and beauty of the surrounding landscape. I think a part of my soul was left there. 😄 Thank you, Axel and Carole, for everything!

We stayed with Jeanette for about a week and had a lovely time! She welcomed us from the beginning and even invited us along to meet her friends for a dinner party (which was delicious). The work was mostly in the garden and we did a few hours a day of mowing, weeding, collecting sticks, trimming bushes and she would always make sure we were doing okay. She also made sure we had time to see things around and took us to Lake Entrance to see seals and to see koalas and kangaroos!! We spent nights watching shows, laughing (she's a very funny woman), talking about life and eating her delicious food :) Would definitely recommend Jeanette to anyone travelling around Gippsland :))

Wow, wow, wow... It's hard to find all the words to express how much this workaway has touched me, influenced me and stayed with me. Two weeks filled with laughter, wonder, weeding, singing, building, baking, playing (!) and so many new experiences. Hōri and Steffi made me feel like part of their family from the moment we first wrote to each other and it was simply the sweetest time. I loved spending time with Matai-Nuku and Momo-Aio and watching them explore life and learning from them was absolutely adorable. Purerehua, Marama and Paterörchen :') are just some of the new words I learned. It's rare that everything fits so well for everyone and it just clicks.. and I left with a heart full of love, gratitude and bittersweet feelings. Thank you for everything. I will always think of you and I hope to see you again very soon! ❤️

By far the best volunteering experience I've had. So much that I'm afraid to try new ones, the standard is so high now. The job is not only easy but enjoyable. The description is very clear and accurate, you will have to make a few beds and keep the place tidy, but most of your time will be socializing with guests. Even when it's not your shift you will want to socialize anyways. Kanoon and V know how important socializing is, so they make sure that the volunteers are happy so we can have a good time and make the guests have a good time too. Just read the rest of the reviews, everyone that comes has a great time, I came for two weeks but ended up staying five, left and then came back for 4 more. Thank you Kanoon and V for everything, I will remember this time forever!

Tom and Lucy stayed with us here for four weeks, and they were an incredible help throughout their entire stay. They are a highly motivated and hardworking couple who always looked for ways to contribute without needing much direction. Whether it was construction work, maintenance tasks, or helping with digital projects, they approached every task with enthusiasm, responsibility, and great attention to detail. What impressed us most was their initiative. They constantly found work that needed to be done and were very independent in completing it. Their contribution was genuinely important for Ochorio, and they helped us make significant progress on several projects. On a personal level, Tom and Lucy are open-minded, friendly, and easy to be around. They brought a positive energy to our home, got along well with everyone, and quickly became a valued part of our community. We are very grateful for everything they did during their stay and would happily welcome them back anytime. We can highly recommend Tom and Lucy to any future host.

I stayed with Hassan for 1 week in May and all I can say is wow, what an authentic experience! This was my first Workaway and my goal was to really get the feel of what it’s like to live like a local in the Moroccan desert. And I think I can say I definitely got the feel for it! As a solo traveller I can truely say I felt completely safe for the length of my stay, not only in the bivouac and camp but also in the town and the long trip from Marrakech to Mhamid. During my stay in the camp, there were no guests and tasks were limited because of it. However there were still daily tasks to do like cleaning the bathroom area, the kitchen and dishes, the carpets and sweeping common areas of sand. Hassan was very relaxed and didn’t really tell us what to do, so being proactive and making yourself busy is necessary for your day to be filled. Like a lot of the reviews have mentioned, if you get bored easily or expect luxury… this is not the place for you. It’s simple living and really makes you appreciate the little luxuries we have in our lives. In saying this I really think anyone and everyone should stay here for a period of time, because it genuinely gives you a different perspective in life. Hassan was an amazing host, he was kind, knowledgeable, open minded and always laughing and making jokes with us. He always made the BEST food and the tea was the best I’ve had in Morocco. I really enjoyed my time in the camp and the cats and kittens were just the cherry on top for me! Thank you Hassan for hosting such a memorable experience! All the best

Katja was a pleasure to host. She is a very proactive person who enjoys working on technical projects and feels especially comfortable creating, improving, and building things. She has a great ability to think of easier and more efficient ways to do tasks, as well as choosing the right materials for the job. During the time she stayed here, however, most of the work required was related to the land and outdoor maintenance rather than technical projects. Despite that, she was always highly motivated, worked hard, and showed a great attitude every day. She also has a wonderful positive energy and is always smiling, which made working together even more enjoyable. She decided to stay at a nearby campsite to have a bit more freedom regarding facilities such as the shower, as she didn't want to invade my personal space. Even so, she still cycled here every morning to help, arriving early and ready to work. It was truly a pleasure having her here. I would happily host her again and hope we will have the chance to work together in the future.

She is incredibly polite and balanced perfectly following instructions with taking her own initiative and working independently. We shared wonderful, deep conversations, and I truly appreciated her thoughtfulness, her freshness, and her joy. Having her here was a absolute pleasure, and she is welcome back anytime!

Alex and Chris came to say our property for five days. They were the best possible people to have on the property For a Workaway exchange. They are super organized. Hard workers. Take initiative And pride and their work. They are also super easy to communicate with and flexible. Highly recommend them if they inquired to stay on your property. I had a great time staying at Jack and Joannas. They are both such lovely, calm, intelligent and welcoming people. I instantly felt welcomed and at home. We got to join in with the monthly community meeting, meet their son and daughter-in-law and share amazing cooked dinners every night, always with a interesting topic to talk about. The work was never too hard! Jack always made sure that the two other volunteers there and I were more than comfortable! We had a great time weeding, planting, cracking hazelnuts, a really good laugh moving the chickens, collecting fruit, and eventually (after alot of trial and error!) learnt how to preserve the fruit. Joanna is an amazing cook! Thank you so much for making vegan for me every night, baking bread and allowing me to use your sewing machine! I really appreciate it. If you're interested in sustainable living, learning about gardening, permiculture, community and the environment, I'd definitely recommend volunteering here! Questions were always answered in a genuine way, and we always felt we could ask if we never understood anything. Thanks so much welcoming me into your lovely home :)
