Please read the following in its entirety and consider whether you are a suitable candidate before contacting us.
Our place is a family-run temple lodging with 550 years of history. We are located in Minobusan, the center of Nichiren Buddhism, not far from Mt. Fuji and only three hours from Tokyo. The place and its adjacent temple are surrounded by beautiful nature and it is not rare to see monkeys and deer in the forest. The village is steeped in Buddhist culture and history.
It started out as a place for pilgrims and novice priests to stay but today accommodates visitors from both Japan and overseas. Our main focus is hospitality and the accommodation is run as a functioning business. Our staff has mostly been with us for many years and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Here, you will be among country folk, living within a temple complex and will experience a Japan that very few Japanese, let alone non-Japanese, ever witness. It is an ideal place to learn Japanese and more about Japanese culture.
*We are seeking live-in, paid help for at least two months.
*All applicants must have a WORKING HOLIDAY VISA or WORK VISA that allows them to legally work in Japan. No tourist visas accepted.
*Please tell us about your work experience.
*Please understand that we can only accept people in good health.
*We cannot provide special accommodation for couples.
There is always a lot to do, whatever the season. Tasks include all aspects of the hospitality sector, including cleaning, room-making, serving food, customer service, kitchen help and gardening. English is a must but no Japanese is required as our staff is eager to learn English. Please be aware that the working days are long and tough during the busy seasons.
Tokyo is easily accessible by public transport if you need some city life. Although Yamanashi is a very mountainous prefecture, we get very little snow in the winter, meaning the outdoors can be enjoyed throughout the year. Many activities are right on our doorstep, including hiking in the mountains, mountain biking and visiting the Fuji lakes. There are also festivals and many other cultural activities to enjoy.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

Please be aware that activities and such opportunities vary depending on workload.

my experience here was extraordinary! I met great people who are like family to me today. The work is pleasant, despite some tiring days you have to keep smiling! 😁
There was kindness in every person I met.

Barry helped us during a particularly busy time but we were all so pleased to see he how much he enjoyed working and living at our temple.
Moreover, Barry was very good at organizing other staff members from overseas and making the work more efficient. We were so grateful for this.
