Dear Workawayers, welcome to our Farm:
I’m Ha. I was born and raised in a poor village in the middle of central Vietnam and as a child, I dreamt that one day I could make a change within my village and help my local people to live better lives. After graduating from university in Vietnam, I spent more than 5 years living and studying abroad in places such as Israel, Singapore, and Denmark. I worked as an agricultural and tourism volunteer in more than 20 countries around the world and at the end of 2021, I returned to my village and started an organic farming and education project.

    The mission of this project:
    - Share cuisine, cultural practices, and language to create an environment for cultural exchange between international volunteers, Vietnamese interns, and the local Vietnamese community.
    - Offer the village children free access to English classes. This opportunity will enable them to learn a new language, gain insights into different cultural perspectives, challenge themselves beyond their comfort zones, build confidence, and develop skills that will allow them to contribute to their hometown.
    - Preserve traditional agricultural methods, practices, and values by inviting children to visit the farm for a day and experience what it’s like to be a farmer.
    - Share our knowledge of agriculture and agricultural tourism with the local community and demonstrate how these can help people escape poverty, sustainably.

My objective is not to profit from the people in the poor village but to provide them with opportunities and resources to improve their circumstances. For this reason, I work hard every day in Da Nang City to earn money, which I reinvest in the farm to continue supporting village children for free. At that time, Vietnamese volunteers Zem and Huyen who will assist me in managing the farm.
We are also building small projects, providing chargeable services to city children, and reinvesting the profits into maintaining and developing our project.

    During your stay, you will:
    1. Complete two daily tasks on the farm. These tasks, which will be assigned each day, include gardening, caring for animals, cleaning, and cooking with local cuisine. You will work approximately three hours per day, with a maximum of 15 hours per week.
    2. Assist in providing free English lessons to village children as well as kids from the city. We host summer camps from June to August, which feature a variety of activities.
    3. If you are interested in social media and have travel experience, we need your help! We are planning to gather ideas about exploring travel in an authentic village on a low budget.
    4. Help decorate the farm to create a bright and colorful space for everyone to enjoy.
    5. Babysit my son when needed.
    6. Organize and oversee games on the farm. 😊
Anyone is welcome to come and stay at our farm; no prior training or skills are required. If you have an appreciation for nature, agriculture, and sustainable farming, we invite you to join us in achieving our mission!
During the remaining time, enjoy your stay in a quiet village, and explore the farm and its surroundings.. Visit the beautiful waterfall, Hoi An Ancient Town, and the My Son Sanctuary. Don't miss trying salt coffee for 15,000 VND, bánh mì for 10,000 VND, and quang noodles. You can also enjoy crushed rice crackers, play volleyball with locals, and visit the local market for reasonably priced fruits.
*Please note that English lessons are subject to public holidays and will not run during Tet and the rainy season. From September to December, we do not have children visiting the farm due to the rainy season.
    * I hope you can adapt all the living conditions. This is because living in the village not as convenient as the city; understanding countryside life without tourism takes time, and explaining the daily processes requires considerable effort for you to adapt to the routine . Typically, the last days are when you begin to understand and enjoy the farming activities fully. However, if you are a professional farmer or builder, a shorter stay may be sufficient.

*NOTE: You just need support us 3 hours/ day, in return we provide you with free accommodation.
This is a community project I do for my small village, I hope you will contribute an optional fee of 5 USD/day to cover food costs as part of supporting this project, we will cook local dishes for lunch and dinner for you. You can still cook for yourself or eat outside if you want, we are very eager to learn your country's dishes as part of the cultural exchange. You can use outside food if you want.

    * Each team will be provided with:
    - Water guns
    - Maps
    - Compasses
    - Boots
    - Instructions
