Hi there! :)

We’re Nuria and Laia — two Catalan sisters (21 and 19) from a small town just outside of Barcelona, currently planning an exciting trip to Vietnam this summer. We’re hoping to find a volunteering project where we can give a hand, learn something new, and meet lovely people along the way!

Even though we grew up in the same home, we’ve been living apart for the last four years — studying, working, and adventuring in different countries — and we only get to reunite a few times a year. That’s why this summer feels extra special to us: it’s a chance to travel together, reconnect, and share something meaningful as sisters.

Our upbringing definitely sparked our curiosity about the world. Our parents are big travelers, and from a young age we were lucky to explore different countries and cultures with them. We also had au pairs growing up, which is how we became fluent in English (besides our native Catalan and Spanish!). Today, between the two of us, we also speak French, Italian, Portuguese, and even some Dutch — so we’re always up for language exchange and picking up new words wherever we go!

Music has also played a big role in our lives — we both play instruments and love singing together (sometimes just for fun, sometimes to annoy the rest of the house, haha). And we've both taken part in international volunteer workcamps in France, which were amazing experiences that made us want to do even more volunteering.

A little more about Nuria: I’m 21 and currently finishing my degree in Sociology in France, where I moved after taking a gap year that became more like a “gap adventure.” I’ve volunteered and worked across France, Italy, and Portugal — from farms to hostels to cafés. I love learning languages (Portuguese is next on my list!) and meeting people from all walks of life. I’m open, hardworking, and always happy to get involved and help where I can.

And about Laia: I’m 19 (20 in June!) and in my second year of Civil Engineering in the Netherlands. I chose to study abroad because I wanted to experience a new lifestyle and meet people from all over the world — and it’s been incredible. I'm really passionate about sustainability, social justice, and making a difference. I love reading, dancing, discovering hidden spots in new cities, and spending time with friends. I'm quite active in student associations and enjoy organizing events and trips for my peers. I’m adaptable, optimistic, and always up for a challenge!

This summer, we're excited to combine our skills and energy in a volunteer project. Whether it's helping out on a farm, teaching English or Spanish, working with kids, or supporting a hostel or local business — we're open and eager to contribute!

We’re both responsible, easy-going, and full of curiosity. And while we’re very different in some ways, we make a pretty great team — balancing each other out and always making space to learn from others.

What We Can Offer :)
We might not be experts (yet!), but over the years — through our studies, travels, and everyday life — we’ve picked up a bunch of useful, hands-on skills that we’re always happy to share. We’re quick learners, full of energy, and always ready to get involved!

Education & Practical Knowledge
Núria is studying Sociology in France, and Laia is studying Civil Engineering in the Netherlands — so we’re used to working hard, solving problems, and collaborating with others.
We've both been living and studying abroad for more than two years, which has made us adaptable, independent, and easy-going in multicultural environments.
On top of her studies, Núria has also been working part-time for the past three years — balancing university and job life with enthusiasm and resilience.


Languages & Cultural Exchange
We’re fluent in Catalan, Spanish, and English, and between us, we also speak French, Italian, Portuguese, and a bit of Dutch.
We grew up with au pairs from all over the world and had our first language exchange at just 4 and 6 years old! That experience made us trilingual from a young age and helped us build deep connections across cultures.
We love language exchange and would be happy to teach, practice conversation, or just share stories over coffee.


Hands-On Help
We’ve volunteered and worked in farms, hostels, cafés, and homes — doing everything from cleaning, cooking, and reception, to gardening, organizing spaces, and even small repairs.
We’re practical, not afraid to get our hands dirty, and always eager to pick up new skills on the go.


Social & Creative Energy
We’re naturally sociable and love being around people — whether it’s hosting, supporting a team, or just bringing good vibes.
We’ve helped organize university events, hosted travelers, planned fun activities, and even played music at small concerts.
We both sing and play instruments, and love to bring people together through music. Laia plays the Flute and Núria plays the piano. We both love singing and playing guitar and ukulele!
Laia is a passionate dancer (jazz, contemporary, ballet), while Núria is a sporty soul who enjoys running, badminton, volleyball, and exploring nature.


People-Oriented & Caring
We’ve looked after kids, helped our grandparents with tech, and supported friends through big and small moments — whether it’s moving house or just needing a good chat.
We’ve painted rooms, sewn clothes, grown herbs on balconies, cut each other’s hair (with surprisingly good results!), and cooked more meals than we can count.
We truly enjoy being helpful, connecting with people, and making everyday moments feel special.
